It’s the last Monday Night Raw before Christmas and for the third time, WWE runs by Des Moines, Iowa’s Wells Fargo Arena in that same week. In 2015, Smackdown was taped December 22 here and in 2019, a Raw double-taping for December 16 and 23 carried the holiday week. Let’s take a look at the card for WWE Raw tonight!

It’s Double Or Nothing, But They Won’t Use The Term
In a rather amusing attempt to continue stretching out this Miz/Dexter Lumis feud, we find ourselves having a rematch between the two despite the promises of an end when they had their previous match a few weeks ago, The Miz has opted to gamble more money in a bid to win back what he lost. The very common term of ‘Double Or Nothing’ very obviously applies here as Miz was ordered to gather an amount of money equal to what he lost in order for the match to happen. But since it’s the name of AEW’s inaugural Pay Per View event, we had the commentators avoiding it entirely and bending over backwards to not say it on accident.
Regardless, here we are again with a third attempt at this match in this feud that would very much make you wonder if there’s smoke when it comes to that rumor that Vince McMahon wants back in WWE.

Horsewomen Clash
The only two currently active members of NXT’s illustrious 4 Horsewomen finally have their clash tonight as ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch takes on ‘The Role Model’ Bayley. The rarest pairing when it comes to the quartet that also includes Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, these two have only had two previous matches. Once on a rather throwaway Smackdown in 2019 which foreshadowed Bayley winning Money In The Bank that year and before that, in early WWE Network NXT in 2015. Back in the days of the BFF and Team BAE groups, manipulating Bayley and a short stint of Becky Lynch being Sasha Banks’ heavy before she became popular.
These two now seem set to have a prominent feud following Bayley and Damage CTRL injuring Becky and taking her out for months. Will this be only the first of various matches? Or is this where it ends before both likely set their sights on the Royal Rumble?
Judgment For The Profits?
Last week The Judgment Day defeated the unlikely trio of The Street Profits and the rather well-highlighted Akira Tozawa. Tozawa finally ditched the dated ‘ninja’ costume. This has seemingly started a feud between the Profits and Judgment Day as a tag team match has been announced. Finn Balor and Damian Priest take on Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford as Dominik Mysterio is likely still recovering from Asuka’s blue mist.
Former Tag Team Partners Embracing Darker Sides?
Maybe it was intentional. Or maybe not. But both Asuka and Alexa Bliss seem to be having the same story of both embracing their “dark sides”. You know WWE loves that “they’re going to that dark place” phrase. A lot. With Alexa Bliss, we’ve seen “subtle” hints of her falling back under that ol’ Wyatt influence. As images flash around her, she acts all bizarre and such. Soon enough, that black goo might return.
Whereas Asuka seems to have oddly enough ditched her signature facepaint, dropped all of her bombastic demeanor, all in favor of looking stoic. On social media, she’s made references to her more violent ‘akuma’-styled look from various points of her time in Japan.
Either-all it seems rather troublesome to see the same exact thing happen to two women on the same show. Normally, when WWE runs into that issue, it’s at least of two separate shows. Will they diverge in some way this week?
All that and more, on WWE Raw tonight.
