WWE Raw tonight comes to us live this week from Albany, New York. Most recently, the town that hosted Impact! Wrestling’s Bound For Glory Pay-Per-View. Raw is live from the MVP Arena, formerly known as the Knickerbocker Arena. Home of the 1992 Royal Rumble. Recognized by many as the all-time best Royal Rumble match, it saw Ric Flair win it and with it the WWF Championship and the famous “With a tear in my eye” promo right after. His victory also spawned the rather infamous “Yes, yes, yes, yes” reaction by Bobby Heenan that for years could be heard in Botchamania’s videos.

Battle For The Advantage
It’s a Wrestlemania rematch to determine which team goes into Survivor Series: WarGames this Saturday with the team advantage. Asuka represents herself, Alexa Bliss, Bianca Belair, Mia Yim and their still-unnamed 5th entry against the likes of Rhea, Damage CTRL and Nikki Cross. The two faced off at Wrestlemania 37 (Night 2) for the Raw Women’s Championship in Rhea’s first official match as a member of the Raw roster with her ultimately defeating the Empress Of Tomorrow to start her so far only reign with it.
Traditionally, the heels go into WarGames with the advantage. In WCW, this was done via a worked coin flip. Hence, no matches were ever needed to determine said advantage. But since the migration of the match-up to NXT and now main roster WWE, Triple H has always liked the idea of playing into it with a match, similar to TNA and their Lethal Lockdown. At least we aren’t getting two ladder matches in a row like how they did in 2019.

That’s It So Far
Maybe other match-ups will be announced throughout the day, but that seems to be all that has been made official as of the weekend for the go-home edition of Monday Night Raw. There are only 4 matches currently made official for Survivor Series. Though there are certainly enough stories going around for more to be added.
While title defenses of the US and Intercontinental title seem to be primarily done on Raw and Smackdown these days, it’s possible that we might see a combination of Seth Rollins, Austin Theory and Bobby Lashley added to the card. Or something involving the three on TV tonight.
Furthermore, The Miz vs Dexter Lumis is scheduled for next week’s edition of Raw. So we might get one last push for that story before it’s finally concluded.
All that and more, on WWE Raw tonight.
