Preview: WWE SmackDown (10/14/22) – Bray Wyatt Returns to SmackDown

Bray Wyatts Potential Return

Tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown is live from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. With last weekend’s Extreme Rules bringing about the return of former WWE and Universal Champion, Bray Wyatt, and the subsequent announcement that he will be exclusive to SmackDown going forward, there is much to speculate. First of all, why now? What has brought the “Eater of Worlds” back to the WWE? What is his ambition? Additionally, can Fridays really have room for two spooky men, with Karrion Kross also operating on SmackDown? Time will, indeed, answer all these questions. Just don’t expect Wyatt to answer them tonight as, much like a David Lynch movie, you will have more questions than answers by the time he is done. Aside from the return of Bray Wyatt, let’s dive right in and see what else is in store for tonight’s episode of SmackDown.

LA Knight vs. Mansoor

Max Dupri is dead, long live LA Knight! As SmackDown fans will no doubt be aware, LA Knight has returned to his NXT character, abandoning Max Dupri and Maximum Male Models in the process. Hurray! Knight is one heck of a performer and when given the microphone, he is one of the best in the industry. Whereas he did a decent enough job as Dupri, many will rejoice at seeing him return to his former character (one which actually has serious potential to get over, complete with the kind of look the WWE likes in its champions) and, in turn, return to the ring. With Crown Jewel fast approaching, LA Knight will be looking to beat Mansoor so hard that he can return to his Saudi friendly character in time for the show.

Kofi Kingston vs. Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn will tonight take on former WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston, in a singles bout. As we are all well aware, Sami is one of the best things in professional wrestling right now. Immensely entertaining in the role of “Honorary Uce”, the sky is really the limit as to where (and when) this storyline will conclude. It takes immense skill to rejuvenate and make a near-1000 day title reign feel fresh, but that is precisely what Sami has done for the Bloodline arc. With all that being said, he has a tough opponent in the form of Kingston and whereas Kofi will no doubt give Sami a hard time, we expect some Uce shenanigans to see Sami through. Oh, he is also now responsible for Jey Uso, so we can expect some comedy there to keep the show going in the absence of the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. Make sure to tune into SmackDown on FOX to catch all the action tonight.

Also Announced for SmackDown

Roxanne Perez will be on hand to select Cora Jade‘s opponent for next week. Yes, we are having NXT segments on tonight’s show, apparently.

Extreme Rules fallout. Will Ronda Rousey continue her feud with Liv Morgan, or potentially move on? What gimmick match lies in store for the ongoing (awesome) feud between Imperium and the Brawling Brutes?
