Tony Khan announced via his official Twitter account that newly crowned Ring of Honor (ROH) World Champion Chris Jericho will defend the belt against former champion and ROH alumni, Bandido, on AEW Dynamite. Chris Jericho won the championship last week at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam via a low blow and a Judas Affect against Claudio Castagnoli, and this will be his first official defense of the championship since winning it for the first time in his career. Bandido, coming off of a big championship win in Big Lucha Wrestling in Mexico against fellow ROH alumni Demonic Flamita, is a former ROH World Champion in his own right, having won the championship from RUSH in July of 2021.

What to Know Prior to Upcoming Title Defense on AEW Dynamite
This week’s AEW Dynamite marks the first time Chris Jericho and Bandido have met. It will also be the first time Bandido is on All Elite Wrestling (AEW) television and could potentially lead to his signing with the company. Bandido is one of the premiere Luchadors in the world, having competed in several promotions throughout North America, and will be sure to bring his A-game considering this will be the largest U.S. TV audience he’s ever been in front of.
