Calm Before the Storm
Note: Due to an attack from Baker and Reba, Shida is not cleared to compete and has been replaced by Athena
This year’s All Out saw the crowning of Toni Storm as the AEW Interim Women’s World Champion and quite possibly the end of the friendship between Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., and her close associate Jamie Hayter. Jamie was literally seconds away from securing her first taste of championship gold in AEW when Britt pulled out the referee at the last moment. An argument would commence and Storm would capitalize on this by giving a DDT to both women, pinning Hayter to secure the win and the title.
While it was indeed every competitor for themselves, Hayter must’ve felt betrayed knowing what she’s done for Britt during her reign as the company’s top champion. Backstage, tensions were still high as the cameras caught a livid Hayter exiting the NOW Arena stating that she “wants nothing to do” with the doctor any longer. No matter the circumstances, Britt has got to get her act together as she teams up with “The Professor” Serena Deeb in tag team action against Toni and Hikaru Shida.
The interim champion is going into this match with a lot of momentum after she pulled out the win in an Eliminator Match against a very determined Penelope Ford. Fortunately for Britt, her partner also got a spectacular victory over Madison Rayne on last week’s AEW Rampage. With an opportunity to make a statement for both champion and challengers; how will both teams respond?

AEW loyalists will be in for quite the treat as the semifinals of the “Grand Slam” Tournament of Champions commences this Wednesday night with Bryan Danielson versus Chris Jericho, and Sammy Guevara versus Jon Moxley. On one side of the bracket you, have two men who tore each other part back at All Out. Jericho might’ve won the battle, but Danielson is looking to win the war and advance to the finals of the tourney.
On the other side of this momentous competition are Jon Moxley and Sammy Guevara. While these two are very familiar with each other, considering Sammy has been at Jericho’s side for a long time, the combatants haven’t quite met in the ring for a one-on-one showdown. This match between Mox and the high-flying Sammy Guevara has the potential to be a show-stealer. Four men, two finals spots, and one title; who will come out on top? Don’t you dare miss the proceedings live this Wednesday night only on TBS!
