Preview: AEW Dynamite (9/7/22) – MJF Returns to Dynamite

MJF Returns on AEW Dynamite

The “Windy City” was blown away by the spectacle that is All Elite Wrestling’s premier annual event All Out. Sunday night provided #AllElite fans with many moments they will not soon forget. From CM Punk regaining the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley to the return of “The Salt of the Earth” MJF there was no shortage of jaw-dropping moments and “edge of your seat” action in Chicago heading into this week’s AEW Dynamite.

On AEW Dynamite, we deal with the fallout from All Out as we hear from the “devil” himself, MJF. Plus, the best of the absolute best collide once more in a Ring of Honor Pure Championship match. There’s surely a lot more coming your way, so don’t you dare miss it! It’s Wednesday night after all, and you know what that means! This is AEW Dynamite. Let’s run it down.

Full AEW Dynamite Match Card:

  • ROH Pure Championship Match: Wheeler Yuta (c) vs. Daniel Garcia
  • We’ll Hear From MJF
  • Women’s Championship Eliminator: Toni Storm vs Penelope Ford
  • Tony Khan Addresses World & Trios Championships

The Devil is Back

After disappearing over two months ago, MJF made his return in a big way. “The Salt of the Earth” played everybody like a fiddle and lay and wait for the opportunity to strike. MJF set his plans in motion when he had a Stokely Hathaway-led group of crusaders secure him the golden opportunity for a future AEW World Championship Match in the Casino Ladder Match.

Of course, fans didn’t know that then, considering MJF kept his identity concealed under a haunting mask. In the main event of All Out, we saw CM Punk triumph over Jon Moxley to secure his second reign as AEW World Champion in front of an adoring Chicago crowd. Unfortunately, Sunday night didn’t belong to CM Punk; it belonged to MJF.

The Long Island native put the finishing touches on his master plan as he tore off the mask, signaling that he’s back and he’s gunning for CM Punk and the AEW World Championship once more. With MJF back in the fold, how will the shaken foundation of AEW change? Find out live this Wednesday night only on TBS!

Pure Competition

There really is no rest for the wicked as after competing in a rigorous Casino Ladder Match, Wheeler Yuta defends the ROH Pure Championship against bitter rival Daniel Garcia. Yuta had an impressive showing Sunday night, despite not winning it all. However, while not competing, Garcia also had a night he won’t soon forget.

Daniel Garcia has been conflicted for the past number of weeks; does he want to be a “Sports Entertainer” or a professional wrestler? That thought process got even murkier when his mentor Chris Jericho defeated the man he idolized growing up Bryan Danielson at All Out. Unfortunately, he has to set all of that aside as a golden opportunity is right in front of him.

With a lot on his mind, can Daniel Garcia pull it together and finally pry the ROH Pure title from an extremely focused but battered Wheeler Yuta?
