Preview: AEW Dynamite (8/31/22) – All Out Go-Home Show

All Elite Wrestling closes the month of August with the “Go-Home” edition of AEW Dynamite. This week’s Dynamite marks one of the last few stops on the road to AEW’s biggest event of the year All Out. While the #AllElite promotion can just sit on its hands on the way to the premier event, this week’s AEW Dynamite card is a strong indicator that the company is not looking to pull any punches ahead of the big show with.

In this blockbuster episode of Dynamite, New Japan Pro Wrestling’s fearsome faction The United Empire, and The Elite look to punch their ticket to All Out as they battle in the AEW World Trios Championship Tournament’s Dynamite finals. All four competitors involved in the AEW Women’s World Championship four-way will be in tag team action. Plus, the “American Dragon” will battle the MMA mammoth of the Jericho Appreciation Society.

Let’s not keep anyone waiting any longer! It’s Wednesday night after all, and you know what that means. This is AEW Dynamite. Let’s run down the AEW Dynamite card.

Full AEW Dynamite Match Card:

  • AEW World Trios Championship Tournament – Dynamite Finals: Will Ospreay & Aussie Open vs. The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega
  • Toni Storm & Hikaru Shida vs. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. & Jamie Hayter
  • We’ll Hear From Undisputed AEW World Champion Jon Moxley
  • Jake Hager vs. Bryan Danielson (w/ Special Guest Commentator: Chris Jericho)

A Dynamite Finals

Will Ospreay and Aussie Open pulled off a monumental, and some might say upset, win over Death Triangle last week on Dynamite to advance in the AEW World Trios Championship Tournament. The action was intense from bell to bell, and the United Empire trio put on an amazing display on their way to securing the victory.

While they may have narrowly escaped the trio of Rey FenixPenta Oscuro, and PAC, another tough challenge lays ahead as they battle The Young Bucks and the “God of Pro Wrestling” Kenny Omega.

About two weeks ago, Omega made his triumphant return to the ring, as he aided The Young Bucks in defeating a very game Los Ingobernables, securing their spot in these Trios Dynamite finals. Possibly two of the best factions in all of wrestling, one spot in the grand finals at All Out; who will come out on top?

Taking Care of Business

A monumental matchup was sanctioned on last week’s Dynamite as “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson faces the one and only “Lionheart” Chris Jericho at All Out. These two bitter rivals have been at each other’s throats, as they debate what path Daniel Garcia should take in his career; is the Dragon Slayer a Wrestler or a Sports Entertainer?

While it’s not ultimately up to them to decide, tensions have flared over mightily and these two legends just want to prove once and for all who’s the best competitor the professional wrestling business had produced over the past two decades. Danielson provoked “The Wizard” enough for him to dig deep and unleash the competitor that is the last remaining survivor of the famous “Hart Dungeon.”

Bryan Danielson will bring his absolute best game come All Out, and he expects nothing less than the wrestler that helped revolutionized wrestling at the turn of the millennium. However, for this week on Dynamite, Danielson has some unfinished business with the mastodon Jake Hager. After a heinous sneak attack from the MMA star, the Blackpool Combat Club member will look to exact some revenge and gain some momentum just days away from All Out.
