“The Almighty” Bobby Lashley will go one-on-one with The Miz this week on Monday Night Raw in a non-title match. We saw on last week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, Lashley along with “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles joined forces to team up to face The Miz and Ciampa in a tag match. During the match, Dexter Lumis appeared in the crowd, choked out The Miz, and dragged him out of the arena. Due to the outside interference by Lumis, The Miz and Ciampa were able to pick up the win via disqualification as self-proclaimed “A-Lister” escaped the clutches of “The Almighty”.
Lashley has been gaining momentum week after week since defeating Theory to win the WWE United States Championship in July at Money in the Bank. The Miz has been on a rollercoaster as of late, having lost to his former friend and business partner, Logan Paul, at SummerSlam. However, he bounced back by aligning himself with Ciampa as the two men have planted the seeds by targeting Lashley and his U.S. Championship.
Bobby Lashley vs. The Miz – Conclusion
This match should be a great preview of things to come in the future for Lashley and Miz. This match will not be for the U.S. Championship but could set up for a rematch down the road. This is a true battle of “David vs. Goliath”, as the power and technical prowess of Lashley will be matched against the speed and underhanded tactics of The Miz, who will stop at anything to get the upper hand on his opponents and pick up a cheap victory at any cost. Furthermore, we know that Styles and Ciampa will be watching. How will the mysterious Dexter Lumis play a factor?
Prediction: I believe this will end in a no-contest (draw), with all four men getting into a post-match brawl that will lead into a future U.S. Championship match that will be decided in a Fatal 4-Way match. A Fatal 4-Way match with Lashley, Miz, Styles, and Ciampa could be booked for Monday Night Raw the following week as a main event caliber matchup.
