Preview: AEW Dynamite Card (8/24/22) – Undisputed AEW World Championship Match

AEW Dynamite Feat Undisputed World Title Match

One of, if not, the biggest AEW Dynamite in recent history commences this Wednesday night live in Cleveland, Ohio. This week, All Elite Wrestling’s two biggest alphas go at it with one thing in mind: becoming the Undisputed AEW World Champion. One-half of FTR is in action as he faces off against “The Franchise” ahead of their trios showdown at All OutPlus, the AEW World Trios Championship Tournament continues as two supreme teams will go to war.

It’ll certainly be another Dynamite for the ages, so don’t you dare miss it. It’s Wednesday night after all, and you know what that means! Time for some AEW Dynamite. Let’s run it down.

Full AEW Dynamite Match Card:

  • Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. KiLynn King
  • AEW World Trios Championship Tournament – Quarterfinals: Death Triangle vs. Will Ospreay & Aussie Open
  • Dax Harwood vs. Jay Lethal
  • AEW Undisputed World Championship Match: CM Punk (c) vs. Jon Moxley (INT)

All Out War

Three of the United Empire’s biggest guns make their return to AEW as they face off with Death Triangle in an AEW World Trios Championship Tournament quarterfinals matchup. Will Ospreay and Aussie Open wreaked havoc when they busted through the “Forbidden Door” many months ago. The trio from New Japan Pro-Wrestling seemed unstoppable and proceeded to put everyone a part of the #AllElite roster on notice.

However, the three men they will face this Wednesday night will not take anything laying down. The AEW All-Atlantic Champion PAC spoke on last week’s Dynamite and issued a warning to Ospreay and Aussie Open; they’re out to win the gold and Death Triangle will show everyone in the tourney how a well-oiled machine operates. Who will come out in this six-man battle?

There Can Be Only One Undisputed AEW World Champion

Tensions flared quickly as CM Punk and Jon Moxley opened the show on last week’s Dynamite. Both men had visceral things to say about each other, and in no time at all, pandemonium broke loose and Punk and Moxley were throwing bombs at each other. A sea of men had to separate the two to save them from themselves ahead of their grand showdown at this year’s All Out in Chicago.

The tides would quickly turn as Moxley came back out, attacking an unsuspecting Tony Nese, as he had more choice words for the AEW World Champion. Moxley stated that he is sick and tired of being called an “Interim” champion, and wanted to settle it then and there in Charleston. Punk was more than willing to oblige and came out, clearly wanting the same thing. Once again, Mox and Punk would need to be pulled apart.

Not long after the chaos, AEW management made it official. It will be CM Punk vs. Jon Moxley, not at All Out, but on this week’s Dynamite in Mox’s home state of Ohio. Fans will bear witness to the crowning of an Undisputed AEW World Champion, and neither Mox nor Punk is willing to move an inch. Will Jon Moxley secure the crown for himself in his home state of Ohio? Or will CM Punk continue what he started and remain the one and only AEW World Champion?
