They may be dream matches, first-time matchups, or hotly anticipated rematches. In this week’s edition, we take a look at a highly anticipated IMPACT Knockouts World Tag Team Championship Match featuring reigning champions VXT (Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green) as they defend their titles against IMPACT Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace and Mia Yim.

Last Friday on IMPACT’s Emergence, we saw Impact Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace successfully defend her title over Mia Yim in a fantastic match-up, defeating Yim with the Grace Driver. Masha Slamovich would come down to ringside to confront Grace, handing her a marked photograph (“death warrant”) of the Knockouts Champion, letting her know that she is next in line for a future title shot.
On last week’s edition of IMPACT Wrestling, Jordynne Grace said she won the title to defend it against anyone and everyone who stepped up to the plate, including Slamovich. Grace said that she and Mia Yim had one of the most “hardest-hitting” matches of her life and that she earned her respect. Grace was interrupted by Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green. They began to tease Grace, saying she’s the least liked person on the roster and bragged about how they won the Knockouts tag team titles on their first try. Mia Yim came into the picture, defending Grace and saying she will gladly stand by her side against the champions. Grace agreed as Yim made the challenge to Purrazzo & Green for the IMPACT Knockouts World Tag Team Championship. The challenge was later accepted by IMPACT Management for the August 25 edition of the show.

Despite the minimum buildup, this should be a great championship match featuring (arguably) four of the best Knockouts in the company today. Jordynne Grace is at the top of her game and continues to shine as the Knockouts Champion. Her tag partner, Mia Yim, may not be her best friend but they share enough mutual respect and have common enemies in Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green. Will this be enough for Jordynne Grace and Mia Yim to get the job done and become the new Knockouts World Tag Team Champions?
Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green have great chemistry, as their longstanding friendship inside the ring and out of it showcases their unity. After winning the IMPACT Knockouts tag titles at Emergence by defeating Taya Valkyrie and Rosemary, the team known as VXT is now in the driver’s seat, ready to prove they’re deserving of those titles. Have the champions lit a fire under their challengers they may not be able to extinguish?
