Preview: AEW Rampage Card (7/15/22) – Fyter Fest

Rampage Fyter Fest

AEW has branded this and next week as two weeks of Fyter Fest. After seeing the AEW Tag Team titles change hands, we continue week one with Rampage, taped at the Enmarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia. Let’s see what the Rampage edition of Fyter Fest has in store for us.

As this was a taped show there are AEW Rampage spoilers available.

AEW Rampage Full Card (7/15/22): Fyter Fest

  • ROH World Championship Match: Jonathan Gresham (c) vs. Lee Moriarty
  • Kris Statlander and Athena vs. Renegade Twins
  • Dark Order vs. House of Black
  • Private Party vs. The Lucha Bros
  • We hear from the Gunn Club

Honor Takes A Turn

Jonathan Gresham finally returned to AEW, just in time to start the road to Ring Of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor event. His return saw an unexpected turn, pun intentional. Following a return and team up with Lee Moriarty, Jonathan Gresham turned on the young prospect and the “Master of Taiga Style”.

The two are now set to clash with the Ring Of Honor World title on the line, as Jonathan Gresham has gone from being ROH’s figurative Foundation to being the new figurehead of Tully Blanchard Enterprises, now flanked by Gates of Agony. If Lee Moriarty is getting this opportunity so fast, who is going to challenge for the ROH World Championship at Death Before Dishonor?

Title Implications?

Last week we saw the team of Mercedes Martinez and Serena Deeb highlighted. On Dynamite, we saw ThunderStorm the tandem of AEW World Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa & Toni Storm. And now we see Athena and Kris Statlander teaming up. The two were linked when Athena made her debut at Double or Nothing. Both seem to be aiming to face and defeat Jade Cargill and The Baddies. We’ll see if Athena can get that TBS title match that seems to be after.

Party vs Lucha

Private Party has not appeared on TV since the break-up of the Hardy Family Office/AFO. This is their return and will be a rematch of early an edition of Dynamite. As these two teams first clashed on the October 23th, 2019 edition of AEW Dynamite. The semi-finals of the tournament that would crown the inaugural Champions. Back then, Private Party were fresh off a victory over the Young Bucks in the quarter-finals of said tournament. While the Lucha Bros had just beaten them at that year’s All Out in “Escalera De La Muerte” (Ladder Of Death). Both teams have been seeing less success these days as Lucha Bros have also not been able to bounce back after losing the AEW Tag Team titles at the start of the year.

We have to wait and see what these two teams and their impressive high-flying styles bring to the table.

Gunn Club Explain

Following their betrayal of The Acclaimed, it seemed the Gunn Club became the biggest heels in all of wrestling just with Austin Gunn taking away Max Caster’s microphone before he could rap. While at first, it seemed ‘Daddy Ass’ Billy Gunn sided with his……. Not children. That was very obviously not how things would end up.

They will now explain their actions. Let’s see what ‘The Ass Boys’ have to say on the matter.

All that and more on AEW Rampage Fyter Fest.
