Theory Wins 2022 Men’s Money in the Bank

Theory Money in the Bank

Theory defeated Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Omos, Riddle, Sami Zayn, and Madcap Moss to win the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the Money in the Bank premium live event. With the win, he earned an opportunity at the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns whenever he chooses. Theory was entered into the match right before it began as Adam Pearce revealed there would be an eighth member. Earlier in the night, Theory lost the United States Championship to Bobby Lashley and as Mr. McMahon‘s protege, he was able to turn it all around by being entered into the match. The victory makes Theory the 24th men’s winner in the history of the Money in the Bank match.

The match, as expected, was a chaotic scene with moments like the entire field throwing Omos through the announce table and Riddle hitting an RKO off the top of a ladder to Seth “Freakin” Rollins. It was after the RKO that Riddle looked in the clear to climb the ladder and take down the briefcase himself, but Theory willed himself to the top and was able to push Riddle off before scoring the win.

All of the competitors prior to the match had been teasing about cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase at the conclusion of Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. There’s no doubt Theory will be thinking the same as he tries to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
