Reports have surfaced that Vince McMahon might finally be setting the record straight about his life and the building of his entertainment empire through pro wrestling via a memoir. Per the New York Post, the Chairman of WWE is shopping the manuscript to publishers. Their sources say that it is similar to the memoir Phil Knight penned, Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike. This is inline with Vince’s change of heart in bringing us behind the curtain with multiple other projects such as the A&E documentary series biographies and the rumored project with VICE.
Vince McMahon Working on Memoir
What to Know Regarding Developing Story
Building on this, the source said, “There have been other bios on him and WWE in the past, but this is very much his memoir told in his voice about his rise and life.” Vince’s potential manuscript is allegedly being represented by a literary agency named Vigliano Associates; they have worked with Mike Tyson, Kevin Garnett, and Mark Messier on projects in the past. Outside of the sports world, they have also worked with singers Trisha Yearwood and Willie Nelson. However to date, both WWE and Vigliano Associates have not returned multiple requests for comment on this development, so it does remain in the speculative realm. If it does materialize, however, it would have many people in the wrestling world lining up with tongues wagging, eager to see how Vince McMahon portrays the events of his life and WWE.
In addition to this rumored project, there is an unauthorized biography of the Chairman coming to print in the spring of 2023. Author Abraham Reisman has partnered with Simon & Shuster to release “Ringmaster”; all about the undisputed champion of professional wrestling companies. Reisman, a journalist who has written for multiple outlets such as Vulture and New York Magazine, also penned True Believer: The Rise and Fall of Stan Lee.
