On Sunday night at AEW Double or Nothing, Adam Cole defeated Samoa Joe in the finals of the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Tournament and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. defeated Ruby Soho in the finals of the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Tournament to become the inaugural winners. Cole defeated New Japan Pro Wrestling‘s Tomohiro Ishii to qualify while going on to take down FTR‘s Dax Harwood in the quarterfinals and Jeff Hardy in the semifinals. Baker was able to qualify by defeating Danielle Kamela (fka Vanessa Bourne in WWE). She then went on to defeat Maki Itoh, who was the Joker of the women’s tournament, in the quarterfinals and cheated to beat rival Toni Storm in the semifinals by using the rope for leverage on the pin.

This win was a long time coming for Cole, who had failed multiple times at trying to capture the AEW World Championship from Hangman Page on two separate occasions. All of this, after all, was part of his plan to get The Undisputed Elite back to its winning ways. This is Cole’s biggest win to this point in his AEW career.
Baker, on the other hand, adds another accolade to the many in her AEW career with the victory. She continues to add to her resume as the face of the AEW women’s division and could use the win to propel her into another championship match, whether it be against AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa or TBS Champion Jade Cargill.
