Preview: AEW Dynamite (5/25/22) – Double or Nothing Go-Home Show

AEW Dynamite Double or Nothing Go Home Show

All Elite Wrestling is finally back in the “Sin City” Las Vegas, Nevada to commemorate the third anniversary of the inaugural Double or Nothing on this week’s AEW Dynamite.  Over the past three years, AEW has given its #AllElite fans some of the most memorable matches and moments ever to happen in the world of professional wrestling. Only days away from the third edition of the premier event, AEW will undoubtedly pull no punches on the Double or Nothing go-home edition of Dynamite.

On this week’s Dynamite, finalists for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments will be determined. The AEW World Champion and his vocal challenger face off before the big event.  Plus, the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship will be on the line, as FTR defends against Roppongi Vice. It’s Wednesday night, and you know what that means! It’s time for the AEW Dynamite go-home show! Let’s run it down.

Full AEW Dynamite Match Card:

  • Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament – Semifinals: Toni Storm vs. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D
  • Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament – Semifinals: Samoa Joe vs. Kyle O’Reilly
  • Steel Cage Match (w/Special Guest Referee: MJF):  Shawn Spears vs. Wardlow
  • Face-to-Face Confrontation Between Hangman Page & CM Punk
  • Jungle Boy vs. Swerve Strickland vs. Ricky Starks
  • ROH World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (c) vs. Roppongi Vice

Killing the “Giant Killer”

Wardlow has endured everything MJF has put in front of him. From being handcuffed like an animal while being accompanied by a sea of security guards for his matches, to getting 10 lashes and a brutal beat down from Shawn Spears and “The Salt of the Earth.” The “War Dog” is so close to getting his hands on MJF that he can practically taste blood.

However, there is one more obstacle to overcome. Wardlow has to slay “The Giant Killer” Shawn Spears inside a solid steel cage with MJF as the special guest referee. Wardlow has come too far to turn back now, as he looks to accomplish his mission of silencing the cocky Long Island native once and for all. With the deck firmly stacked against him; will he be able to pull it off? Find out this Wednesday night AEW Dynamite!

The King of H(e)arts

The Undisputed Elite has been running roughshod in the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament. Adam Cole has cemented his spot in the finals of the tourney by defeating “The Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy in a barn burner on last week’s Dynamite.

This week, another Undisputed Elite member looks to punch his ticket to the finals as Kyle O’Reilly faces off against Samoa Joe. Joe and O’Reilly both had physically demanding quarterfinals matchup last week. O’Reilly went toe to toe with the high-flying Rey Fenix, and Joe had a showdown with the debuting Johnny Elite.

Now, they find themselves fighting out for the last spot. Who will advance? Will it be an Undisputed Elite finals or will Samoa Joe overcome and take the spot for himself? Tune into TBS this Wednesday night as you do not want to miss this.
