WWE‘s Friday Night SmackDown is here once more! This week, the show is live from the MVP Arena in Albany, New York. In addition to tonight’s episode of SmackDown, next week’s edition of SmackDown will also be filmed tonight, as the WWE roster heads overseas for a schedule clashing London show next Friday (why they couldn’t simply film SmackDown over in the UK, as they have done around this time of year for decades, remains to be seen). What’s in store for tonight’s show? Let’s dive in and find out!
Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntyre in a Lumberjack Match
First up, we have the meeting between sword wielding Super Scot, Drew McIntyre, and non-sword wielding, conspiracy touting bad guy, Sami Zayn. This is the third meeting between the pair in three weeks – with Sami Zayn having previously accepted defeat before entering the match and deciding to get himself counted out, potentially to avoid the sword wielding Super Scot’s wielded sword. This time, however, there is no escape – it’s a lumberjack match! Apparently, Sami Zayn lumbering his way through a Jackass themed match with Johnny Knoxville wasn’t enough punishment and now he has to face off with McIntyre in a match he can’t escape. Ouch. Could Sami somehow weasel his way to pulling off an upset? Tune in to find out.
Madcap Moss vs. Angel
In this clash of the absolute titans, Madcap Moss squares off with Angel, who can rely on the support of Humberto in his corner. Moss is now free of his alignment with Happy Corbin (which is going to be either the best or worst thing to ever happen to his career) and can focus on putting that chapter of his life behind him. However, as we all know, it is a certainty that Corbin will do his best to prevent Moss from becoming the star he hopes to become. Might he assist Angel to a victory here? Watch SmackDown tonight to find out.
Not Announced But Expected for SmackDown
– The Usos and RK-Bro will continue their heated feud, which last week included an epic promo from Randy Orton. This could be the best segment of tonight’s show.
– Former Raw Women’s Champion, Ronda Rousey, and current WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, both missed last week’s SmackDown. Expect them to return tonight.
