AEW Rampage Spoilers & Results (4/1/2022)

AEW Collision to be featured at upfronts

This week’s AEW Rampage was taped on Wednesday April 30th and featured four matches. With much of the wrestling world being focused on this weekend’s annual WrestleMania event, Rampage needed to be strong to maintain attention during a week where eyes may be elsewhere. Here are the AEW Rampage spoilers and results for this week’s show (which airs Friday, April 1st).

AEW Rampage Spoilers April 1, 2022

Tay Conti & Sammy Guevara Destroy Dan Lambert’s Car

In yet another way of portraying Tay Conti & Sammy Guevara as the bad guys in this storyline, the polarizing couple destroyed Dan Lambert‘s car to open the show, whilst Lambert and his American Top Team proteges Paige Van Zant & Scorpio Sky watched on from the ring. Classic storyline progression.

The Young Bucks Defeated Top Flight

In a match which has all the potential of being a high octane, clinic of a tag team match, the Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) overcame their younger colleagues, Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) in the presumed opening match of the night.

Trios Match: House of Black defeated Fuego Del Sol, Evil Uno, & Stu Grayson

House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Matthews) overcame AEW Rampage regular Fuego Del Sol, Evil Uno & Stu Grayson in trios tag team action. Just like the opening match, this has the potential to be another fun match.

TNT Champion Scorpio Sky, Dan Lambert, & Paige Van Zant Speak About the Show’s Opening

Of course, with Dan Lambert’s car being destroyed, there are going to be consequences. No doubt, American Top Team will use this promo time to promise an enactment of revenge on AEW’s new top couple (sorry, Cody and Brandi Rhodes).

Owen Hart Memorial Tournament Qualifier: Jamie Hayter Defeats Skye Blue

Skye Blue has all the potential in the world, but it is not yet her time in AEW. Jamie Hayter overcame her adversary to progress to the next stage of the Owen Hart Memorial Tournament.

Kris Statlander Speaks

We get some promo time from Kris Statlander in this segment. We can also expect Mark Henry to usher us into tonight’s main event between Powerhouse Hobbs and Keith Lee.

Keith Lee Defeats Powerhouse Hobbs

In a match which has all the makings of being a great “big hoss” type slugfest, Keith Lee overcame his younger opponent in the main event of the show. Lee has been feuding with Team Taz almost since the very beginning of his arrival in AEW and it is not yet clear whether this is the blow-off to their feud. Either way, the more experienced competitor went over and Hobbs got the opportunity to work with someone who, perhaps more than any other, can teach Hobbs the necessary next steps towards becoming a big named player in professional wrestling.
