WWE Friday Night SmackDown is here once again as the Road to WrestleMania heats up live from Miami, Florida. Tonight’s SmackDown has on offer a “first-time ever” moment with Ronda Rousey; an Intercontinental Championship match and a Tag Team Championship match. Without further ado, let’s dive into the preview.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The Viking Raiders Vs. The Usos (c)
At WWE’s recent Saudi-hosted Elimination Chamber event, the Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) were robbed of their SmackDown Tag Team Championship contenders match after The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) jumped them during their entrance. For once, justice is served, as the Viking Raiders finally get their title shot against two thirds of the dominant Bloodline stable. Can the Vikings triumph against the Samoans? You’ll have to tune into SmackDown to find out (though expect the Usos to retain).
Intercontinental Championship Match: Ricochet Vs. Sami Zayn (c)
In a match which has the potential to be a high-octane, ultra-entertaining contest, Sami Zayn defends his Intercontinental Championship against Ricochet. With recent news coming out that Ricochet is set to become the “number two babyface” on SmackDown, perhaps a title shot isn’t all that surprising. However, with Zayn currently enjoying a terrific time as the weasle-like, conspiracy touting, irritating heel of SmackDown, Ricochet will have his work cut out for him. If these two are given the time to perform as only they know how, expect a clinic of a match. Expect Zayn to find some ulterior method of seizing victory from the highest of flyer.
SmackDown Main Event: Ronda Rousey Vs. Sonya Deville
In a first-time ever moment, Ronda Rousey will wrestle on SmackDown against Sonya Deville. That’s right – this match will be the former UFC star’s first ever bout on SmackDown. In Sonya Deville, Rousey has a fine opponent who is currently doing tremendous work as a villainous authority figure, so this has the potential to be a hot match. With these two having collided a number of times in recent weeks, including at Elimination Chamber, expect this to be the blow-off to their small feud before Rousey chases the SmackDown women’s Championship ahead of her match with Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania XXXVIII.
Not Announced But Expected for SmackDown
– Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns are almost certain to continue their feud tonight.
