The UK’s most prevalent independent promotion, Revolution Pro Wrestling, has announced the main event for their upcoming Epic Encounters event. Live in London’s famous York Hall, the consistent home of RevPro’s most renowned shows, Will Ospreay defends his Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship.
He does so against a former champion, and the King of Pro Wrestling – Minoru Suzuki.
Minoru Suzuki vs Will Ospreay Taking Place At RevPro Epic Encounters
It’s a singles match that has only happened once before, in New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Climax 30. Will Ospreay was the victor on that occasion, but in a title-deciding, York Hall main event clash, it could be a very different story for the United Empire leader.

Suzuki has history in RevPro. He reigned as the Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion during 2018, defeating Tomohiro Ishii for the title, before the Stone Pitbull reclaimed the title in Suzuki’s very first defense.
The Undisputed British Heavyweight title is one with a storied history, having been held by some of the best in the world, from AJ Styles and Katsuyori Shibata to Zack Sabre Jr. and, for a short time, Hiroshi Tanahashi.
On Sunday, May 22 2022, Ospreay will have to overcome the violent Suzuki for a second time, but the stakes are at an all-time high for the Brit. Ospreay has held RevPro’s Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion since February 2020. He’s defeated a plethora of opponents during his reign, even though the COVID-19 pandemic prohibited many months of wrestling in 2020.
Most recently, Ospreay defeated young British rising-star, Michael Oku at RevPro’s High Stakes event in January 2022. Their mammoth clash received Match of the Year level plaudits from all corners of the wrestling industry, with Ospreay putting on a thrilling, emotive match with Oku.

Minoru Suzuki has had many great matches on British shores too, with most of which happening under the RevPro banner. His upcoming clash with Will Ospreay may well be the next entry on his list.
On a show which already features the all-Australian clash between the Aussie Open vs The VeloCities, a raucous York Hall crowd can be expected as Suzuki challenges Ospreay in the main event. A match between two of New Japan’s best is bound to draw a big crowd, and all indicators point to this being a fittingly epic encounter.
