Daniel Garcia Wins PWG BOLA 2022 at PWG Battle of Los Angeles

Daniel Garcia Wins PWG BOLA 2022 Tournament

If you watch All Elite Wrestling (AEW) on a weekly basis, you will be familiar with the rise of Daniel Garcia. Over the past year, he has skyrocketed from independent prospect with an impressive technical style to becoming one of the best young talents in professional wrestling today. At last night’s PWG Battle of Los Angeles 2022 (Night 2), Daniel Garcia overcame Speedball Mike Bailey in the final of the 2022 PWG Battle of Los Angeles Tournament (typically referred to as the PWG BOLA Tournament) to claim what has become a prestigious accolade in the world of independent pro wrestling.

To prove a point, past winners include the likes of Kenny Omega (2009), Sami Zayn (as El Generico, in 2011), Adam Cole (2012) and Ricochet (2014). Winners of this tournament tend to go on to achieve big things in the business and with Garcia etching his name into the trophy alongside some of the greatest active competitors in professional wrestling today, whilst still just 23 years of age, it is a certainty that the young grappler from New York is destined for similar greatness.

Is 2022 Daniel Garcia’s Year?

With Daniel Garcia seemingly appearing everywhere at the moment, it makes sense that he would compare himself to Michael Jordan – especially as a large part of Garcia’s character is that of cocky prospect with the ability to back up his words. He is currently a highly featured competitor in AEW and Tony Khan himself is a confessed fan of his work, so with his continued success on the US independent circuit and his continued growth as a performer on national television, 2022 might just become something of a breakout year for Garcia. Whereas it is perhaps too soon to slate him for an AEW World Championship, he is precisely the kind of competitor who can continue building the TNT Championship not as a secondary title, but as a serious – and well coveted – alternative to the title which bares the company’s name. Daniel Garcia is going to continue growing in 2022 and with winning the BOLA 2022 Tournament at such a young age, his potential is limitless.
