New Podcast “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” Coming Soon

The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy Podcast

Emmy Award-winning sportscaster, Jon Alba, today confirmed via Twitter that starting on January 7, 2022, he will be hosting a brand new podcast alongside AEW star Matt Hardy. Given the title of the brand new show, “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy”, it is safe to assume that topics will most likely center around Hardy and his in-ring career, which now spans four decades.

The announcement was made on Twitter and links to an article in Sports Illustrated, which provides more details on this upcoming project. Speaking of the podcast, Matt Hardy gave us some insight into how this decision came about.

“It’s the perfect time to transition into something new… this podcast is going to give a different perspective to older, more historical events, and see how they translate in today’s modern climate.”

The inaugural episode on January 7 will cover the No Mercy 1999 ladder match between The Hardy Boyz (who, of course, were then dubbed “The New Brood”) and Edge & Christian – a pioneering moment which would lead to countless more classic moments to be shared by these two legendary tag teams.

“That’s the match that was our launching point, helping us turn into superstars… so it’s also the launching point for ‘The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy.’”

Finally, when speaking about co-host Jon Alba, Hardy gave an aura of positivism and excitement when discussing their future working relationship.

“Jon brings a very rare modern approach to the industry, and we’ll have a great chemistry and dichotomy… we have very different perspectives, so it will lead to a lot of new insight.”

With Matt Hardy now working a more relaxed schedule within All Elite Wrestling, where he is also the leader/manager of the Hardy Family Office, he has more time to embark on ambitious projects such as this. Additionally, Matt is an eloquent talker with decades of in-ring experience and stories which he will no doubt be sharing with us through the podcast medium.
