Gruesome Attack on Referee by Indie Wrestler ‘Hannibal’ Causes Hospitalization

A gruesome scene took place at World Class Revolution’s event ‘Christmas Star Wars’ in Irving, Texas. Independent wrestler and YouTube personality, Devon Nicholson, better known as ‘Hannibal’ allegedly stabbed referee Lando Deltoro with a sharp object, leading to his hospitalization.

Nicholson, who was performing under the mask as a ‘Bloodhunter’ had a match with Carly Colon, aka ‘Carlito’, and decided to go ‘off the script’ when things didn’t go according to the plan. According to another referee who was present at the event, Colby Cowperthwaite, Nicholson was nowhere to be found before the matchup, and he was stumbling during his entrance and had problems balancing himself when he tried to climb the turnbuckles. Cowperthwaite has informed Colon about his suspicions about Bloodhunters state and both decided to end the match as soon as possible. After the match, two referees, including Cowperthwaite had escorted brawling Colon and Andrew Anderson, as it was planned.

Nicholson was to be escorted by a third referee, Lando Deltoro, who was prepared to do a blade job, and then things went horribly wrong. According to Cowpertwaite, Deltoro had problems with making himself bleed, which made Nicholson lock him in a Rear-naked choke and hit him multiple times in the head with a metal spike. It caused a torn artery in his head.  Cowperthwaite told other persons backstage to call 911, then he rushed back to ringside and started to hit Nicholson in the leg to force him to release Deltoro, which he does after the intervention of his girlfriend, who was acting as his manager.

Deltoro was taken backstage, and Cowperthwaite gave his statement to the police. In his Reddit post he wrote that promoter of the event, Kevin Sulivan told him to ‘kayfabe the cops’. It was announced that World Class will sever its ties with Nicholson.

There is a Fundraiser campaign to help Deltoro.
