The Battle of Los Angeles, commonly referred to as BOLA, is an all-star game of independent wrestling and has become one of the staple events of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG). The 2022 edition of the tournament will take place in January and we now have our first official competitor as former WWE Superstar JONAH has been announced for the tournament.
JONAH Announced for BOLA 2022
Jonah Rock is the first entrant in the 2022 Battle of Los Angeles!

Before signing to WWE, JONAH was tearing things up as Jonah Rock. The colossal man was confined to the Australian scene for most of his career outside of a three year spell of tours with Pro Wrestling NOAH as part of TMDK (The Mighty Don’t Kneel). In 2017, Rock was announced as a participant in the 2017 Battle of Los Angeles and wowed fans who had never seen him before. He became a hot commodity on the independent scene and wrestled all over the world in 2018 before joining WWE.
In WWE, he became Bronson Reed and didn’t manage to get much of a sustained run until he won the North American Championship in May of 2021. Unfortunately, Rock was released from the company in August.
JONAH hasn’t let this release slow him down as he quickly debuted for IMPACT Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling in quick succession and established himself as a major presence. Now he aims to return to where it all began to claim glory in BOLA.
