Canadian Indie Veteran “Dirty” Buxx Belmar Making Return to Ring

Buxx Belmer is Back

Montreal’s BATTLEWAR promotion announced their return to the Quebec/Canadian indie scene this past November, with Home For The Holidays set to take place this Sunday, December 5, at Les Foufones Electriques. On Thursday, BATTLEWAR announced a shocking return to the ring – that a “certain someone is coming home for the holidays” in a video package – that ended up being the return to the ring of Quebec veteran “Dirty” Buxx Belmar. Buxx Belmar hasn’t competed since the spring of 2019 and had previously retired in 2016 following several nagging injuries. He returned sporadically in the spring of 2017, but his appearances were limited.

Buxx Belmar had been a part of the Canadian independent scene for nearly 20 years, predominantly in the Quebec indies, starting out in 2004. A student of former WWE Intercontinental Champion Jacques Rougeau, he got his start with Quebec’s Northern Championship Wrestling (nCw). By 2012, he expanded into the Ontario scene with Ottawa’s Capital City Championship Combat (C4), Toronto’s Destiny Wrestling and Smash Wrestling, and Hamilton’s Alpha-1, as well as in the U.S. with the likes of Beyond Wrestling, Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Limitless Wrestling, and CHIKARA. By the mid-2010s, he was deeply embedded as part of Quebec’s strong independent circuit, also competing for North Shore Pro Wrestling (NSPW), International Wrestling Syndicate (IWS), Inter Species Wrestling (ISW), and of course BATTLEWAR. Throughout his career, Bullmer is a former IWS World Champion, BATTLEWAR Champion, and 2x C4 Champion.

As if his return to Canadian independent wrestling wasn’t enough, BATTLEWAR announced on Friday that Buxx Belmar was heading straight into the war, as he’ll be challenging current BATTLEWAR Champion Thomas Dubois (one half of the hard-hitting tandem, Le Tabernak De Team) in singles competition. Buxx Belmar held the BATTLEWAR Championship for a whopping 595-days from 2013 to 2015.
