The fastest and most exciting 60 minutes of wrestling action has another great weekending show this Friday night. AEW Rampage is quickly becoming everybody’s go-to professional wrestling program to cap off their week. It’s not hard to see why. All Elite Wrestling is packing on loads of amazing matches to quench the appetite of its loyal fan-base, and this week’s show will not be any different. This episode will be one for the books and you do not want to miss it.
On this week’s Rampage, “The Spanish God” defends the TNT Championship against “The Premier Athlete” in a battle of wits and skill as well as the right to be called TNT Champion at the end of the night. Also, two-thirds of Death Triangle battle it out against one of AEW’s best tag teams in a match that will be down and dirty from start to finish. That and plenty more coming your way this Friday night fight on TNT! Without further ado, Unleash Rampage! As we run it down.
Full AEW Rampage Match Card:
- TNT Championship Match: Sammy Guevara (c) vs. Tony Nese
- PAC & Penta El Zero Miedo (w/Alex Abrahantes) vs. FTR (w/ Tully Blanchard)
- Jade Cargill vs Janai Kai (w/Thunder Rosa On Commentary)
Down But Not Out
The Lucha Brothers were supposed to defend their AEW World Tag Team Championship against fierce rivals FTR. The team of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler believe that they need to settle this rivalry in a convincing fashion. So, they wanted this match to be contested under “2 Out Of 3 Falls” rules. In order to decide a definitive winner. However, Rey Fenix, due to his injuries, will be unable to travel and be with his brother to defend their titles.
In his place, comes his comrade from Death Triangle, the mightily ticked off “Bastard” PAC. “The Bastard” is just itching for a fight after being screwed over by FTR, Andrade El Idolo, and, Malakai Black in that eight-man tag team match a last week. Penta says, according to Alex Abrahantes, Fenix and Penta would’ve reveled in the thought of beating FTR twice in one night. But, that inevitable showdown will come once Rey is ready to go and with a clean bill of health. Nevertheless, this change in participants will be no hindrance to a match that’s sure to deliver a spectacular contest. Will FTR make an example of PAC and Penta and beat them down decisively? Or will the duo from the Death Triangle prove once more why they’re one of the most dangerous units in AEW?
A Premier Showdown
“The Premier Athlete” Tony Nese makes his TNT TV debut in spectacular fashion as he challenges Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship. Nese has been on a winning streak as of late and he’s ready to take on the biggest challenge of his AEW career, thus far. Tony can be seen in the front-row scouting the competition on various All Elite Wrestling programming. Now, he’s ready to execute and has his eyes firmly set on making history by winning the TNT Title in his first-ever televised match on AEW television.
Sammy Guevara immediately stepped up and accepted this challenge. As he is confident that no one will take that title away from him anytime soon. However, Tony saw Sammy’s reign from a different perspective. Nese claimed that Guevara is the TNT champion for the sole reason that Sammy hasn’t faced an athlete quite like him. That surely lit a fire inside Sammy enough to make Tony regret his words this Friday night. The time for talk has ended and it’s time to settle it in the ring. It’s “The Spanish God” taking on the “The Premier Athlete” for the TNT Championships this Friday night on AEW Rampage only on TNT!
