Going To Work
Lio Rush was supposed to make his AEW Rampage last week in tag team action. Unfortunately, due to Mike Sydal’s injury, the match was postponed and turned into the third chapter between Matt Sydal and Dante Martin. Despite the last-minute change, fans were treated to a high-flying acrobatic match filled with high spots and gravity-defying feats of aerial artistry. It was a sight to behold, that’s for sure. When the dust settled, Dante came out on top against his former mentor. Matt Sydal was thrilled that everything he taught Martin ultimately helped the youngster in defeating him. Sydal also would go on to say there are no hard feelings in regards to Dante wanting to train under the watchful eye of Rush. Because now, he has a new pupil under his wing. That young star is Lee Moriarty.
Lio felt slighted with those comments. On top of that, Sydal was so confident in his words that he challenged the duo to a tag team match on this week’s Dynamite alongside Moriarty. “The Man of the Hour” accepted the challenge on behalf of him and Dante. This has been brewing for a number of weeks now and it’s definitely about to combust. Lio Rush definitely has a bone to pick with Sydal and if he has to get his own hands dirty, he will do just that. Will Lio Rush prove to not only Martin but Sydal, that he is the superior mentor in his Dynamite debut? Or will Matt Sydal make Dante regret his choices?
“The American Dragon” Kicks “The Forbidden Door” Down
Bryan Danielson has been an unstoppable wrestling machine, to say the very least. Danielson has won seven straight matches and conquered every single opponent that dared get in his way in the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. At Full Gear, he has a chance to secure a date with destiny if he wins against an unstoppable monster in his own right Miro in the finals of the tournament. Before all that, he has to go through one of the best NJPW has to offer in the form of Rocky Romero.
The former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion made his AEW debut back in May defeating JD Drake on AEW Dark: Elevation. And, now he is back once again making his Dynamite debut against one of the best AEW has in their roster. By no means is JD Drake a slouch in the ring. But, Bryan Danielson is just on another level so he better be ready. The sentiment rings true for Bryan as well. Romero is a decorated competitor and calling this a “tune-up match” would be criminally unfair considering Rocky’s talents. Nevertheless, this will be one hell of a match as “The Forbidden Door” swings open once again. Who will come out on top three days before Full Gear? You better tune in to find out this Wednesday night on TNT on the Full Gear go-home show!
