It was a crazy day for Mission Pro Wrestling on the weekend at Saturday night’s MPW Don’t Fear The Reaper, which saw the crowning of inaugural MPW Tag Team Champions, as well as the MPW Championship changing hands twice on the same night. Heading into the event, wrestling veteran La Rosa Negra was the MPW Champion, having held the title for 316-days after winning the inaugural title after winning it back in December of 2020.
#AndNEW: The Renegade Twins Win MPW Tag Team Titles
On Saturday night, the Renegade Twins, Charlette & Robyn Renegade, defeated the team of Bad & Boujee (Katalina Perez & Lexi Gomez) to be crowned the inaugural MPW Tag Team Champions. The Renegade Twins made their MPW debut this past June and have now cemented themselves as the top tag team in Mission Pro Wrestling.

#AndNEW: Jazmin Allure Wins MPW Championship
Jazmin Allure has made quite a name for herself in just over a year in the business, most notably appearing for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) on episodes of AEW DARK and AEW DARK Elevation starting last December, where she’s faced the likes of Thunder Rosa, Anna Jay, Big Swole, and others. She even made an appearance on AEW Dynamite this past May (again against Thunder Rosa). She’s also been a dominant force in MPW since her debut last September, and in the main event on Saturday night – with a little assistance from newly crowned MPW Tag Team Champions The Renegade Twins – she defeated La Rosa Negra to become the new MPW Champion.

#AndNEW: Holidead Wins MPW Championship
In the opening of the event on Saturday, Holidead won a battle royale to earn a shot at the MPW Championship at the time of her choosing, and following the shenanigans that ended La Rosa Negra’s title reign in the main event, Holidead decided to call her shot then and there. Following a vicious frog splash from the former champion La Rosa Negra, Holidead landed her own finisher on the new champion Allure, pinning her for the 1-2-3 to leave Don’t Fear The Reaper as the new MPW Champion.

La Rosa Negra Makes AEW Debut
Despite losing her title on Saturday night, on Sunday La Rosa Negra got a bit of good news. It was revealed by Thunder Rosa on her Twitter that La Rosa Negra took part in the next set of tapings for AEW DARK and DARK Elevation, making her long-awaited debut for AEW. It’s a great accomplishment for the 18-year legend of Puerto Rican wrestling, where she’s a 3x WWC Women’s Champion, who has also wrestled in the U.S. with Shine Wrestling (amongst others) as well as stints in Japan with Stardom, Sendai Girls, Marvelous, SEAdLINNNG, and others, capturing the Stardom High Speed Championship briefly in 2015.
Since the internet had this out…. I’m beyond proud of you my sister. They don’t know the STRUGGLE, SACRIFICE AND HARDSHIP YOU WENT THROUGH. No matter what happens from TODAY ON you are a WINNER because you never gave up! I love you @LaRosaNegraPR #Respect #sister pic.twitter.com/t76LFkAfNa
