Preview: AEW Dynamite (8/25/21) – CM Punk Dynamite Debut

CM Punk AEW Dynamite Debut

The dawning of a new era in All Elite Wrestling genuinely has begun after the events of last week. AEW truly delivered one of the most genuinely shocking and exciting moments the wrestling business has seen in recent memory. This latest edition of AEW Dynamite will possibly be one of the biggest, if not, the biggest episode in the show’s short history. Two teams will be fighting it out for a spot in the World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament finals. The Doctor’s Assassin looks to cook up a storm in her Dynamite return. Perhaps more importantly, however, is the long-awaited CM Punk Dynamite debut.

This is what the fans have been waiting for. On Wednesday night, “The Voice of the Voiceless” makes his historic first-ever Dynamite appearance live on TNT. There is so much more in stored for all of AEW’s loyal fans. It looks like another “boom period” in the wrestling business is upon us all. There’s no better time to be a fan than right now. So, let’s get the ball rolling. Because, “it’s Wednesday night, and you know what that means!” It’s time for some Dynamite. Let’s run it down.

“The Best In The World” is Back

The wrestling world was set ablaze last week, when none other than CM Punk made his return to professional wrestling after seven long years of being away. AEW Rampage was the so-called “First Dance” of Punk since exiting the business entirely all those years ago. The moment Cult of Personality by the band Living Colour hit, the Chicago fans, and hundreds and thousands more watching at home, went absolutely ballistic; no one ever thought it would ever happen. Fortunately, for them, it did.

Punk had much to say about the past, old scores that need to be settled, and new talent that he wants to face. He heard the fans’ cries and pleas and was not only doing this for them but for himself. Above all else, the biggest thing that stood out is the fact that he’s back and he said he has time. Wednesdays, Fridays, and, four Saturdays or Sundays a year. CM Punk is not in a hurry and he’s not going anywhere.

He’s taking the liberty of capitalizing on one of those Wednesdays right off the bat as Punk makes his first-ever Dynamite appearance this week. This leads many to wonder, what more does Punk have to say? Specifically, what does he have to say about his All Out opponent Darby Allin? This is a can’t miss event. It only happens once in a lifetime. Punk’s Dynamite debut, live this Wednesday night – don’t you dare miss it!

A Dish Best Served Cold

Jamie Hayter made her return to AEW on the first-ever episode of Rampage. She assisted the AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. in the post-match beat down of Red Velvet. Baker retained the AEW Women’s World title in her hometown of Pittsburgh in front of a raucous crowd, making Velvet submit with her patented Lockjaw finishing hold. Not satisfied after winning the match, Baker proceeded to lay down a mugging to put Velvet in her place. In came Kris Statlander to the rescue. As the number one-ranked competitor in the AEW Women’s Rankings, Statlander could not stand idly by as this disgusting display was happening.

Not to be outdone, Baker had a big trick up her sleeve. After two years of being away, Jamie Hayter came to the aid of Baker and pummeled both Statlander and Velvet. The good doctor always has a backup plan and that’s why she has the gold firmly around her waist.

This leads us to this Wednesday night, Red Velvet wants revenge, plain and simple. Hayter is very much inclined to see her try and do that. Velvet is understandably livid after what ensued two weeks ago on Rampage. With that being said, she also has to consider if she’s biting off more than she could chew. Jamie Hayter is on a mission and that’s a mission of destruction. No matter who or what gets in her way, she will most likely run through it. This match could be a miracle or a massacre. Will Red Velvet find it in herself to slay “The Assassin” or will Jamie Hayter be the problem solver Baker always wanted and needed?
