Preview: AEW Rampage (8/20/21) – The First Dance

AEW Rampage 8-20-21

All Elite Wrestling emanates from “The Windy City” as they take over Chicago, Illinois. AEW will hold its biggest show to date in the home of the Chicago Bulls at the sold-out United Center. The once voiceless stands caused by the dark times find their voice this Friday night on AEW Rampage. A chorus of jeers and cheers will surely run wild in the city of Chicago as the best men and women in the world compete at the highest level in front of a packed house. On this momentous night, a spot in the finals of the AEW World Tag Team Eliminator Tournament will be up for grabs. The baddest woman on the AEW roster will compete against one of the fiercest and fiery opponents she will ever hope to face. The AEW Rampage: The First Dance preview is a major one.

Last and not certainly not least, a Paradigm Shift is promised in Chicago as a former AEW World Champion looks to fight one of AEW’s brightest “Diamonds in the Rough”. Some straight edge and straight-laced All Elite Wrestling action will be coming your way. And, maybe just maybe, quite a few surprises up AEW’s sleeve. The First Dance is upon us. So, let rampage ensue as we run it down.

AEW Rampage: The First Dance Preview — Match Card:

  • World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament Semifinal: Private Party (w/Matt Hardy) vs. Jurassic Express
  • Jade Cargill (w/Smart Mark Sterling) vs. Kiera Hogan
  • Jon Moxley (w/Eddie Kingston) vs. Daniel Garcia (w/2point0)

The B-tch Is Back

Over the past number of weeks, Jade Cargill has proved all the doubters wrong. After a two-month layoff from the ring chasing the bright lights of Hollywood, Cargill picked up right where she left off. She did not lose a single step and remains undefeated against the competition. Upon her return, Cargill smashed through Amber Nova and Katie Arquette like business as usual.

Under the guidance of “Smart” Mark Sterling, Cargill has not only found opportunities elsewhere and further expanding the reach of the #JadeBrand. But, also, she has maintained her high-level training and readiness whenever she needs to take care of business in the ring. Her star will shine so much brighter as she gets her feet wet in the wrestling industry. With that being said, her might will be tested against a legit opponent in Kiera Hogan.

Hogan made her AEW: Dark and AEW: Dark Elevation debut on the recent editions of the shows. Despite being on the losing end of both affairs, Hogan has looked impressive thus far. If she keeps her intensity up, the former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champion will definitely be a welcomed threat into the fold of the AEW Women’s ranks. Kiera Hogan can make her biggest impact if she happens to take down one of AEW’s finest. It won’t be easy but it is a test worth conquering. Will Kiera Hogan put out the flames of the #JadeBrand or will Jade Cargill once again prove why she’s “That B-tch”?

Top Of The Food Chain

The relentless and vocal Jon Moxley made his voice heard this week on AEW Dynamite. It truly puzzles him that as AEW grows everybody just wants to jump on the bandwagon that he himself put on his back through dark times. He called out the likes of Kenny OmegaHangman Page, and the number one contender Christian Cage. He felt like everybody is just coming into his house to play and not earn their keep. And, quite frankly, Mox has had enough of it. He is taking his domain back by hook or by crook. By force, if necessary. This starts on Friday night on Rampage. Moxley promises to make an example out of the rising star known as Daniel Garcia.

Moxley wants to separate the contenders from the pretenders. As Moxley stated, he is willing to spill his own blood, maybe someone else’s if that’s truly what needs to be done. Moxley warned the youngster that if he is indeed truly ready for the spotlight then he should have no problem standing toe to toe with the “Best in the World.” Under the bright lights of the main event, stars are made and others are broken. Garcia will be in the fight of his life so he better make sure this is what he truly wants. Mox is not playing around anymore and when that happens you know it’s about to get ugly. Will Daniel Garcia survive this onslaught or will Jon Moxley take back his house in one fell swoop?
