With Bononi being the newest addition to the card, this only adds to the colorful cast of independent wrestlers making their appearance at GCW’s upcoming event.
Debuting on July 20, 2014, Cezar Bononi wrestled his first match under the name “V8” at the Brazillian Wrestling Federation’s Anime Friends 2014 (Night 3) event.”V8″ would soon find himself competing for championship gold. On July 19, 2015 – almost a year to the day of his in-ring debut – this Brazillian superstar would win his first and only championship when he defeated Sonico for the BWF Rei Do Ringue Championship. He would soon vacate the belt after 101 days when he was picked up by the WWE developmental system.
After signing with WWE in October 2015, Bononi would debut on the NXT House Show loop. He would make occasional television appearances as well – the first one taking place on May 10, 2017, in a losing effort to former NXT Champion Aleister Black. In that year’s NXT Year-End Awards, Bononi was given the “Future Star of NXT” award. His last appearance in the company took place on March 6, 2020, where Bononi teamed with Tino Sabbatelli to defeat Denzel Dejournette and Nick Ogarelli. On April 17, 2020, Bononi was released from the promotion.
Ever since then, Bononi has been making appearances in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Currently working as a member of The Wingmen (alongside JD Drake, Peter Avalon, and Ryan Nemeth), Bononi is slowly establishing his professional wrestling character and evolving over time.
