A grappling technical beauty. When it was announced that KUSHIDA and Kyle O’Reilly would be running back their classic from NJPW on NXT, people were excited. Seeing that the NXT Cruiserweight Champion has found himself this year and O’Reilly is establishing himself as a singles star, it felt like the perfect time to do the match. In a match of respect, these two had a physical battle that anyone would welcome in any company. KUSHIDA was not only on the same level as O’Reilly, but as the match went on, he was more and more in control. The spot of the match saw KUSHIDA hit a picture-perfect Bridging Suplex to O’Reilly on the apron. This saw them both crash to the floor.

KUSHIDA managed to lock in the Hoverboard Lock but O’Reilly managed to roll KUSHIDA up out of nowhere for the pin and the victory. These two embraced after the hellacious battle as not only was it a sign of respect but clearly just the beginning for their battles in NXT. A great showing by both individuals.
