Over the course of the past month or so Stardom has been holding its annual Cinderella Tournament. The tournament, usually held in one show, has been spread out across multiple shows due to COVID-19 but finally came to an end at Tokyo Dream Cinderella. In the semi-main event Saya Kamitani defeated her rival Maika of Donna Del Mondo to win the tournament and earn herself a wish.

Saya Kamitani pulled out her rarely seen Phoenix Splash to win the final after earlier defeating Himeka in the semi-final. Maika defeated Unagi Sayaka in the opener to earn her spot in the final. At the end of the show, Kamitani was presented with her trophy while in the Cinderella dress and it was made clear that she would use her wish to challenge Tam Nakano for the Wonder Of Stardom title.
Stardom understands that Saya Kamitani is a rare talent and has pushed her very quickly, not only did she get to challenge for their world title at the Nippon Budokan but now, with under 150 matches under her belt, she has won the Cinderella Tournament and been elevated to the main event scene of the company for the foreseeable future.
