On the May 12 edition of AEW Dynamite three championships were on the line as the Young Bucks defended against SCU, Yuji Nagata debuted in AEW to challenge Jon Moxley for the IWGP US Championship, and also the TNT Championship clash between Darby Allin and Miro. Miro walked away as the new TNT Championship following another stellar Darby Allin match.
Miro debuted in AEW in September 2020 after being released from WWE. Ever since then fans have been waiting for Miro to fulfill his potential as he has spent months on the periphery as Kip Sabian‘s “best man”. Following a recent loss for the two against the Best Friends Miro finally let loose and beat up Sabian, unleashing the monster that we have seen brief flashes of during his time in AEW.
With his true potential unleashed the former Rusev turned his attention to Darby Allin and his TNT Championship, which Allin has defended frequently in recent weeks. Miro’s win pushes him into the top echelon of the company and should kickstart a great run for the brute, potentially with a rematch against Allin down the line. One imagines former partner Kip Sabian won’t be too far away to get some revenge for the beating he suffered from his former best man, although Lance Archer seemingly jumped the line with his appearance to close the show.
