In news broken by PWInsider today, former WWE in-ring competitor, Jason Jordan, has become the lead producer of WWE TV tapings. He assumes the role vacated by long-time WWE employee John Laurinaitis, who reclaimed his old role of Head of Talent Relations recently. A WWE producer acts as the middle-man between WWE creative and the superstars, therefore Jordan has picked up a crucial role in the production of the TV programming.
This is a big promotion for Jordan, who at just 32 years old is now one of the more senior members of the backstage team. You may remember that Jason Jordan’s promising WWE career was brought to a cruel and abrupt end in 2018. A serious neck injury, requiring surgery, ended his career, which was just gaining momentum as Jordan was penciled in to defeat Kurt Angle in what would be Angle’s final WWE match before retirement. Alas, it was not to be, and following the career-ending injury, Baron Corbin took the match and eventual victory over the departing Angle.
Jason Jordan was a talented member of the WWE roster, both as an in-ring competitor and as a talker. He is now impressing the higher-ups with his production ability and we can’t help but wish him the best of luck in his new role.
Two More Promotions
Additionally, WWE referee, John Cone, has been promoted to a new backstage role. Cone is now second-in-command to Laurinaitis in Talent Relations. In news also broken by PWInsider, Adam Pearce has received a promotion but his new role is currently unknown. More on this story as we get it.
