It has been announced that on the April 27 edition of AEW Dark Marty Casaus will take on Brian Cage. Casaus is better known as Marty “The Moth” Martinez of Lucha Underground fame where he won the Lucha Underground title during the show’s fourth season. Casaus has had a tough road to AEW and now has his chance to make an impression against a fellow LU alumni.

In an Instagram post from March 3, Marty Casaus revealed that he was training at the Nightmare Factory. In this same post, he detailed that in February 2019 he herniated the L4 and L5 in his spine. In Casaus’ own words he spent “…2 years relearning how to walk without pain..” and even had to “..relearn how to run on the treadmill.”.
From a Tough Enough appearance a decade ago to a run in Lucha Underground, to a severe injury the path for Marty Casaus has not been a simple one but he looks to make the most of his experiences when he debuts in AEW. Casaus impressed many fans during his time as the demented moth in Lucha Underground and could be a big asset for All Elite Wrestling in the future.
