With WrestleMania week taking place in Florida, there is a whole host of independent talent in town that AEW is putting to use. AEW Dark: Elevation was already the home to a number of debuts and the April 13 edition of AEW Dark promises more of the same with even more independent stars set to make their debuts. Generation Championship Wrestling Women’s Champion Queen Aminata and Ken Broadway stand out as two of the more exciting debutants but let’s run down the full list of AEW Dark debutants for tonight!
Queen Aminata
Ever since her tour of Japan with Marvelous Queen Aminata has been slowly putting together a buzzworthy resume for any hardcore fans paying attention to her work. She and Trish Adora had a high-profile battle for the Pan Afrika World Diaspora Wrestling Championship in 2020 and returned to SHIMMER Wrestling for the first time since 2018. Aminata capped off her year by winning the Diamond Cup in Generation Championship Wrestling and becoming the champion of their diamond division. Earlier this year she made her Mission Pro Wrestling debut and now makes her way to AEW Dark with a huge opportunity on the table.
Amber Nova
Ever since her debut in 2016 Amber Nova has had opportunities to wrestle for major promotions as she has already debuted for IMPACT Wrestling and WWE. While those seemingly never led anywhere Nova now gets her shot in AEW when she teams with Queen Aminata on AEW Dark.
Spencer Slade
Much like AEW Dark: Elevation debutants Cole Karter and Andrew Palace, Spencer Slade is a standout of International Wrestling Council (IWC). Slade has also wrestled for Imagine Wrestling and Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). As may be evidenced by his headgear Spade is a wrestler’s wrestler that excels on the mat.
Kit Sackett
Previously based out of Georgia and competing for promotions like 1 Fall Wrestling, Kit Sackett is another Nightmare Factory trainee that is getting a shot on AEW Dark. He teams with fellow Nightmare Factory standout Hayden Backlund in his AEW debut.
Shawna Reed
The “pretty little psycho” Shawna Reed is debuting against Britt Baker. Reed debuted in 2016 and since then has wrestled in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Nevada primarily. She has made the occasional trip to the UK where she wrestled for British Empire Wrestling, even reaching the final of their International Grand Prix in 2019. Towards the tail end of 2020, she debuted for OVW before popping up on the recent Rhodes Wrestling Academy showcase.
Prince Kai
Prince Kai will make his debut alongside Will Allday in tag team action. Kai is another face familiar to fans of the scene in Georgia as he primarily competes there for Heritage Championship Wrestling and WrestleMerica.
Stone Rockwell
Stone Rockwell may be a familiar face to fans thanks to his run in IMPACT Wrestling in 2018 where he was an action-adventure hero of sorts. Rockwell is a veteran of both the Canadian and U.S. indie scenes who has won numerous championships throughout his career. He had a WWE tryout in mid-2019 and seemed to simmer out after that but he now re-emerges on AEW Dark with another shot at the big time.
Jake Manning
Jake Manning is another veteran who is getting a shot at the big time on AEW Dark. Manning debuts against Colt Cabana, a man he has been wrestling since the early naughts for SCW Pro Wrestling. Manning has 17 years of experience under his belt and has wrestled primarily for places like Northeast Wrestling and Premiere Wrestling Xperience.
Ken Broadway
Ken Broadway is a House Of Glory trainee who has recently been picking up steam on the U.S. indie scene. The former House Of Glory Crown Jewel Champion has been primarily competing for Game Changer Wrestling, Violence X Suffering, and Paradigm Pro Wrestling and comes into this one off the back of a win at GCW’s Acid Up 3 when he fended off 5 other competitors to win a scramble match.
