Emilia McKenzie returned to NXT UK last week, making it very clear that she was going for Kay Lee Ray and her NXT UK Women’s Championship. But as she and Ray were about to come to blows, Isla Dawn attacked McKenzie, leading to a beat down of the potential opponent for Ray’s title. This led to a save by Meiko Satomura, the most recent opponent to come up short against the champion. This leads to a major tag team match between four of the top women in NXT UK. McKenzie and Satomura form a formidable team that could lead to both ladies positioning themselves for a title shot.
Prediction: Meiko Satomura & Emilia McKenzie
Heritage Cup No. 1 Contender’s Match: Tyler Bate vs. Noam Dar
Tyler Bate made his way back to NXT UK last year by competing for A-Kid‘s Heritage Cup, coming up short in Round 6. Since then, however, he has got back on track and has defeated Sam Gradwell, Bailey Matthews, and big Dave Mastiff to earn the spot at the NXT UK Prelude. He is riding far more momentum than his opponent, Noam Dar, who has not competed in a match since Nov. 5, where he lost to current Heritage Cup winner A-Kid. It’s an interesting situation for him, as he was simply trying to throw off Bate on the former NXT UK Champion’s race back to the Heritage Cup. In doing so, he has his own shot at the Cup and could lead to these two having an incredible match in the process.
This is one of the darkhorse matches of WrestleMania week and could go either way.
Prediction: Noam Dar
NXT United Kingdom Championship: WALTER (c) vs. Rampage Brown
This is scheduled to be one of the biggest matches in the history of NXT UK. Of course, WALTER will need to make quick work of Tommaso Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver night one first to make it to this match. If he does, this one will be between two of NXT UK’s biggest and baddest. Both men enter the match undefeated in singles competition, only furthering the impact of what this could have on NXT UK forever. Rampage Brown is the veteran who arrived at NXT UK in 2020, walking through the locker room on his way to WALTER. His most impressive win came over Joe Coffey, who has brought WALTER to the limit before. Brown could be the man to finally dethrone WALTER.
But of course, this is WALTER we are talking about after all. No man in the past five years in professional wrestling has been as dominant as WALTER. He is the longest-reigning NXT United Kingdom in history. Since becoming a member of WWE, he has only shown that dominance that much more through the historic title reign. As the leader of Imperium, he proves that the ring is indeed sacred, but considering the bad blood between these two, this could get ugly fast. It also has the makings of being the best match of the entire WrestleMania week. That’s how good these two are.
Prediction: WALTER
