On Sunday night, history was made as Edith Surreal, The Artist Formerly Known As Still Life With Apricots & Pears, fought back all challenges to win the inaugural Cassandro Cup tournament. Presented by Butch vs Gore, the new promotion founded by LGBTQIA+ wrestler/promoter Billy Dixon and former Prime Time Pro Wrestling co-promoter Lolo McGrath, the tournament featured seven rising names in the LGBTQIA+ wrestling scene competing for the trophy. Ultimately it was a grand day for art as the personification of performance art hoisted the trophy after defeating Erica Leigh in the first round, Killian McMurphy in the semi-finals, and then Ashton Starr in the finals.

It marks the third tournament victory for Edith Surreal in the past three years, as she won the CHIKARA Young Lions Cup XV tournament in 2019, then helped lead her trios tandem (that included Boomer Hatfield & Molly McCoy) to victory at Camp Leapfrog‘s Christmas Trios tournament this past December. It also marks a return to form for the explosive star, as she had recently suffered two knockouts in recent tournaments – on March 11, she was knocked out of the Enjoy Cup tournament on Enjoy Wrestling‘s Canned Heat by eventual winner Lee Moriarty in semi-finals, and earlier this week, her tag team Ephemera (formerly Nouveau Aesthetic) with Saint Jaxon DuPont (formerly BLANK) was knocked out of Beyond Wrestling‘s Tournament For Tomorrow in the semi-finals by Milk Chocolate.
