“The Bunny” Allie Returns to In-Ring Action in AEW

The Bunny Allie Returns to AEW

Considering she’s a former two-time IMPACT Knockouts Champion and tag team champion in both SHIMMER and Shine, it’s surprising how little The Bunny – formerly known as Allie and Cherry Bomb – has actually wrestled for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since being one of the first women announced when the promotion began in 2019. She made her in-ring debut in a match against Leva Bates at 2019’s Fyter Fest and then only competed in five more matches the following year. She reappeared in the summer of 2020 as Brandi Rhodes’ tag team partner in the Nightmare Sisters, making the finals of the AEW Women’s Tag Team Tournament, but after their loss, she was gone again.

After a couple AEW Dark matches in the early fall, she reappeared as the valet to The Butcher & The Blade, rebranding as The Bunny, the dark persona developed near the end of her tenure with IMPACT that incorporated a years-long feud with Rosemary (The Demon), that ran from the Canadian indies to IMPACT Wrestling, from Cherry Bomb to Allie. It was announced on Monday that on this Tuesday’s episode of AEW Dark, The Bunny would return to the ring for the first time since September 4, 2020, when she scored a victory over Red Velvet, two months before she resurfaced with The Butcher & The Blade. It will mark her first match as The Bunny.

Since then, Red Velvet has become one of the AEW women’s division’s top new stars. This Tuesday, The Bunny faces Jazmin Allure, a Florida-based indie wrestler who has worked on AEW Dark and faced the likes of Thunder Rosa, Ivelisse, Anna Jay, and others, and is still looking for her first AEW victory.
