Indie Veteran Azrieal Returns

SCU take on the makeshift team of Danny Limelight and Azrieal in tag team action.  Christopher Daniels will know all about Azrieal as the two men have wrestled before dating back to 2005 in Ring Of Honor, in a match also involving AEW’s Matt Sydal.  Azrieal is a nearly 20 year veteran of the independent wrestling scene and has competed for ROH, Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW)Dragon Gate, and Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) to name just a few of the companies he has worked for.

Azrieal debuted on the last AEW Dark show when he lost to Penta El Zero Miedo but will get a second chance against a man that he wrestled back in 2005.

QT Marshall vs Fuego Del Sol GRUDGE MATCH

Much like Marvel in some ways, AEW has developed its own little multiverse of sorts, where YouTube shows like Being the Elite and Sammy Guevara’s Vlog offer vehicles to further storylines that don’t quite make it to TV. Such is the case with this match, which has been almost entirely built through the vlog’s platform. Months ago, after being alerted to what QT Marshall really thought about him, Fuego Del Sol has been on a mission to get the man one-on-one in the ring. But Marshall, who admitted to having Del Sol in his head, has ducked him at every opportunity. This is largely because of the tornado DDT, a move Del Sol has never actually hit in AEW but one that has been put over more than any finisher in the company. At least, in theory, everyone seems to be afraid of getting hit by Del Sol’s DDT. But he’s been unable to pick up a win on Dark and to add insult to proverbial injury, was humiliated a few weeks ago when he showed up at the Nightmare Factory to confront Marshall. But Del Sol continued to fight for his match and even cut a passionate promo about it on the vlog’s most recent episode. Marshall responded somewhat tongue-in-cheek, making people believe he wanted the match as much as Del Sol. But turned out it was just his classic bit with Guevara where Marshall just insults the Dark talent. But the match was always meant to happen. Tony Khan even endorsed it, showing up on the vlog to do so. So this week on Dark, Fuego Del Sol will get his match with QT Marshall. And he will hit the tornado DDT and probably get a contract. It is the most hyped-up match on tonight’s Dark so go out of your way to watch it!

Savannah Thorne Debuts

Diamante will take on Savannah Thorne in singles action on this edition of AEW Dark.  Savannah Thorne has mostly spent her career competing for Go Wrestle in Florida but has been on AEW before having served as MJF’s campaign manager in the run-up to his title match with Jon Moxley.
