DK Meadows, Rising Star on US Indies, Passes Away

DK Meadows

The US indie scene was shocked to find out that Daykwon ‘DK” Meadows, a young wrestler who was only three years into his wrestling career, had passed away on Monday. A student trained in the Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) Dojo, Meadows made his debut in 2018. No cause of death has been released.

DK Meadows made his CZW debut in August of 2018 as part of the CZW Dojo Wars, facing one of his trainers, DJ Hyde. He would soon pair with Jae Fre in tag team action throughout the year. In 2019, he would face other rising young stars, like Jordan Oliver and Charlie Tiger. The following June, he captured the CZW Medal of Valor Championship. He made his CZW main roster debut that October at CZW To Hell And Back, competing in a scramble match with KC Navarro, “Big Game” Leroy Green, and others.

DK Meadows continued to work both CZW Dojo Wars as well. In 2020, he became a regular with CZW’s main brand, fighting at February’s CZW 21st Anniversary Show and March’s CZW Saturday Night Special, where he picked up his first main card victory in a four-way with Boom Harden, Karen BamBam, and Khristian Robinson. He also competed for F1ght Club and was a part of the tournament to crown the first Pan-Afrikan World Diaspora Wrestling Championship, and last September competed in Sean Henderson‘s WrestleCup 2020. His last match was in December of 2020, competing for We Want Wrestling in New Jersey.

Last Word on Pro Wrestling sends our condolences to DK Meadows’ fans, friends, and fans during this hard time.
