IMPACT Wrestling has just made one of the boldest decisions in recent memory. Following a brutal table match between cousins Deaner and the newly revitalized Jake Something, Moose speared Something and hijacked the ring. Moose has been holding the TNA World Heavyweight Championship for nearly one year. The titleholder stated that he would not leave the ring until IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann gave him his world title match. IMPACT Vice President Scott D’Amore furiously stormed to the ring, stating that, “if you want a world title match tonight, you’ve got a world title match tonight.”

However, in a shocking and unique twist, D’Amore announced that he was officially sanctioning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Moose had been carrying the belt since early 2020, when he “won” the belt in a match against Michael Elgin and Hernandez. Though IMPACT has never claimed the belt as official, Moose has defended it against the likes of Suicide and Willie Mack. All the while, Moose never explained where he got the belt. The TNA World Heavyweight Champion has not been a sanctioned belt since TNA’s ownership change in 2017.
Even though Moose retained his world title against Something, the latter looked like an absolute star, even in defeat. D’Amore made the announcement that Moose will officially challenge Rich Swann for the IMPACT World Championship at Sacrifice.
