Royal Rumble Betting Odds Analysis

2021 Royal Rumble participants

The Royal Rumble is upon us and as always there’s so much excitement around the annual event.  More than possibly any other event Royal Rumble betting odds are usually a huge indicator as to what superstar is going to win the Royal Rumble match and go on to headline WrestleMania.  We’ve decided to take a look at the current day-of betting odds (according to SkyBet) for each match announced for the show.

Day-Of Royal Rumble Betting Favorites

Women’s Tag Team Championships – Asuka & Charlotte Flair (c) vs Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler

In a surprising turn of events, the current champions are actually not the favorites to retain here.  The former champions Jax and Baszler are currently 2/5 favorites to win back the titles despite some of the tension between the two recently.  Asuka and Flair are a superteam but they both have their attention turned to different feuds which may see them drop the belts earlier than expected

SmackDown Women’s Championship – Sasha Banks (c) vs Carmella

Carmella stands absolutely no chance in this match and the betting odds agree as Sasha Banks is heavy favorite to retain her title.  Carmella is a placeholder feud for Banks so we’ll see The Boss keep the title here

WWE Championship – Drew McIntyre (c) vs Goldberg

We’re seeing a trend emerge as the champion is once again the favorite to retain in this match.  McIntyre’s odds of victory are currently 4/9 which will make many fans happy as they don’t want to see part-time Goldberg hold the title.

Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (c) vs Kevin Owens

Reigns is the hottest thing in wrestling and WWE would be silly to mess with his momentum right now.  The punters agree as he is a whopping 1/20 odds on favorite to defeat Owens once again.

Women’s Royal Rumble

Now on to the matches everyone is here for.  Bianca Belair has been the odds on favorite to win the Royal Rumble for some time now.  With her recent big win over Bayley and the release of her WWE Chronicle it seems like now is the time for Belair to get a big win and solidify her spot as a star.  Alexa Bliss and Rhea Ripley have stayed in the running as both are just behind Belair, either woman could easily walk away with the win, but this feels like Belair’s time

Men’s Royal Rumble

The Men’s Royal Rumble betting odds have been hesitant to choose a winner, there’s been a lot of jockeying at the top for this one but as of this writing Daniel Bryan is the favorite to win and has even improved overnight to 10/11 from 1/1.  Edge is close to Bryan at the top and is a solid option to win the event but our eyes can’t help but be drawn to Brock Lesnar who has been climbing the rankings for some months now and currently sits at 4/1 to win the men’s rumble match.  This one really is up in the air as no one emerges as a clear favorite but you can never bet against Brock Lesnar.  There are of course differing viewpoints though as MyBookie has Keith Lee as the favorite to win at +250, with Bryan just behind at +260
