On the January 13th edition of MLW Fusion, presented by Salina de la Renta, the MLW World Tag Team Championships were on the line as The Von Erichs defended against Los Parks. LA Park had previously laid out a bold claim; if he and his son Hijo de LA Park were unable to defeat the Von Erich brothers, he would retire. Coming into this title defense, Marshall and Ross Von Erich held the titles for a record-setting 437 days.

Unfortunately for the Von Erich brothers, Salina de la Renta wasn’t about to risk her heaviest hitter’s career without extra help. As executive producer of this episode, Salina appointed “Filthy” Tom Lawlor as a special guest referee for this match. Now, Lawlor has been embroiled in a feud with the Von Erich clan since turning on them in November 2019. Los Parks would take advantage of the leniency of the official and their empresaria at ringside.
