At night one of Wrestle Kingdom 15, the Guerrillas of Destiny defeated Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi, a.k.a. the Dangerous Tekkers, to become a record-breaking seven-time IWGP Tag Team Champions. The win came when Tama Tonga utilized the glove that helped them win the World Tag League on Taichi, allowing Tanga Loa to lay him out and win the titles.
This match really could have gone either way, as both teams neared victory on separate occasions. It was going to be a tough night for both teams, as the IWGP Tag Team Titles had switched hands at the past seven straight Wrestle Kingdom events while the Guerrillas of Destiny continuously struggled at the major event. Luckily for G.O.D., it was their night to break a long time curse that was well over their head.
The win could allow Taichi and Sabre Jr. to both repursue singles gold, as their team may be no longer depending on how the future goes. G.O.D. officially broke their tie with TenKoji to be the No. 1 team in history when it comes to those IWGP Tag Team Titles.
Expect FinJuice‘s David Finlay and Juice Robinson to chase the gold when Robinson is cleared of his orbital injury.
