Preview: PPW – UWFI Contenders Series #1 (12/23/20)

UWFI Contenders Series #1

Paradigm Pro Wrestling has found their niche on the US indie scene as they have embraced shoot wrestling and adopted UWFI rules for their shows.  They now launch a weekly series known as the UWFI Contenders Series which debuts on IWTV later today.  Let’s preview the show

PPW Heavy Hitters Championship – Mo Atlas (c) vs Flash Thompson

In the main event of the evening we have a title clash between Atlas and Thompson.  Atlas is undefeated in UWFI rules and reigns as the PPW champion, coming in at just under 300 lbs. he lives up to the name of Heavy Hitters champion.  Thompson is the taller competitor and will be looking to use his boxing expertise to take down his opponent.  Despite his credentials Thompson is only 3-2 in UWFI rules and comes in as the underdog against the hoodfoot.

Janai Kai vs Jordan Blade

Two women with combat sports backgrounds make their UWFI debuts.  Jordan Blade is legit!  She is a name that has been stealing headlines on the US indies after her barn burner with Trish Adora.  With her Power Lifting background mixing with Jiu-Jitsu  Blade can both overpower you and destroy you on the mat.  Kai is a very different style of competitor with her brining kickboxing to the fold, as well as a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.  This will be an interesting clash of styles as both women look to prove themself under UWFI rules.
