Preview: AEW Dynamite (11/18/20)

AEW Dyamite

Last week’s AEW promised the balance of power would shift in wrestling. Aces are in store and landscapes would change for wrestling fans. Pac made a stunning return as well as the promise that the one and only Shaquille O’Neal is coming to AEW. Tony Khan and co have big plans before 2020 ends and we will see more to come. AEW Dynamite tonight will give us two championship matches. The NWA Women’s Championship will be on the line as Thunder Rosa gets her rematch against Serena Deeb. The Young Bucks will defend their newly won AEW World tag Team Titles against independent standouts Top Flight. Cody and Darby will fight Team Taz. Pac will look to brutalize The Blade. Kip Sabian takes on Orange Cassidy.  Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley will come face to face. And finally, The Inner Circle takes an ill-advised trip to the Gambling Capital of the World.

Serena Deeb vs Thunder Rosa: NWA World Women’s Championship

The score will be settled between these two athletes tonight. Le Mera Mera looks to take her title back against Ms. Fundamental, Serena Deeb. Thunder Rosa made her return to AEW at Full Gear to confront Deeb after her victory against Allysin Kay. The NWA Women’s Title has received more prominence since AEW and NWA began a working agreement. AEW have made sure to feature the NWA Women’s Title prominently on Dynamite and this match will be a treat for Women’s Wrestling fans. Deeb and Rosa are tied 1-1 against one another and tonight will decide once and for all who is the better wrestler.

Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs Top Flight (Air Wolf & Angel Dorado)

The Coldest Team in the Game have been standouts on AEW Dark and will now challenge new champs, The Young Bucks in the biggest match of their career. At Full Gear, The Young Bucks defeated FTR after a nearly thirty minute bout. FTR has manipulated The Elite to the point where Hangman is now no longer friends with the group. Now Kenny, Matt, and Nick are living their best lives. Along with a new book that is out now, Matt and Nick are ready to carry the AEW Tag Team banner with a hugely stacked division. Tag Team wrestling put AEW on the map, and tonight promises an opportunity for the next big things.

Kip Sabian vs Orange Cassidy

Superbad Kip Sabian wants revenge against Freshly Squeezed Orange Cassidy and Best Friends. The team of Sabian and “The Best Man” Miro had their arcade machine broken during the Best Friends vs FTR Tag Title Match on the Anniversary Edition of Dynamite. Game recognizes game, and Miro is furious at the trio for their disrespect. Since debuting on Dynamite, Miro and Sabian have looked to flesh out themselves in the AEW landscape. The Gamers are on a quest for Kip to have the best engagement possible. Best Friends will look to redeem themselves after failing to capture the AEW World Tag Team Titles twice this year. Can Superbad juice AEW’s resident breakout star of 2020?

Inner Circle Slays Las Vegas

Now that MJF has joined The Inner Circle, the group celebrates by heading to the Entertainment Capital of the World. The Painmaker Posse has been on the downslope since Jericho lost the AEW World Title at Revolution. Now they are joined by The Salt of the Earth and The War Dog. Jericho and MJF have developed a begrudging bromance the past couple of weeks. MJF has infiltrated the faction must to the detest of Guevara and Proud N Powerful. Considering MJF “forgot” to give Sammy the email. It’s clear Maxwell may not be making all new friends inside this feral wolfpack.

PAC vs The Blade

While the balance of power in wrestling most certainly did not shift last week. PAC made his long awaited return to AEW Dynamite. Eddie Kingston has made an enemy of The Bastard and it’s only a matter of time before he gets his revenge. PAC has been unable to travel to America for eight months due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Since then, Kingston has formed and Alliance with The Butcher, The Blade, and The Lucha Bros. Before the pandemic, PAC formed The Death Triangle with Pentagon and Fenix. Eight months later, The Lucha Bros are on the verge of disbanding. Penta El Zero and Fenix brutalized one another much to the horror of commentary. Will The Bastard absolutely destroy Allie’s husband?

Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin vs Team Taz (Brian Cage & Ricky Starks)

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and “The Daredevil” Darby Allin will face “The Machine” Brian Cage and “Absolute” Ricky Starks. Team Taz have been attacking Darby for months. The Absolute Power of Cage and Starks together have been very successful together over on AEW Dark. Taz has been managing Cage and Starks with renewed purpose and aggression. At Full Gear, Darby defeated Cody to become the new TNT Champion. Cody and Darby will team once again to take down their Full Gear attackers.

Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega Contract Signing

The contract signing for the biggest main event in the history of Dynamite. “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega challenges “The Purveyor of Violence” Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title on December 2nd. Tonight, these two come face to face after their unsactioned match at Full Gear last year. Mox and Omega had the definitive rivalry of AEW’s first year. Their bout last year technically is not recognized by AEW management. However, after beating Omega, The Death Rider was launched into the world title. Moxley has held the title since AEW Revolution back in February. Now he comes face to face with a reinvigorated, focused, and obsessed Best Bout Machine.
