Will Hobbs vs Ryzin
While his big match and Wednesday Night Dynamite in-ring debut had to wait, Will Hobbs continues to be a strong presence on AEW DARK, where he’s done nothing but pick up wins since officially signing with the company. Hobbs is certainly someone AEW seems to have big future plans for, as evidenced by his appearance in what would have been a huge six-man tag alongside Darby Allin and the world champ, Jon Moxley. Hobbs’ opportunities will come and when they do, he’ll be ready to grab them the same way he did all of this past summer as he earned his contract. On Tuesday, he’ll face Ryzin, who has had just a handful of matches on DARK recently. Advantage Hobbs in this one.
Shawn Dean vs Angelico
A match that looks very exciting on paper, AEW DARK’s resident Captain takes on the high-flying “airdevil”, Angelico, who is making a rare singles match appearance this year. Shawn Dean’s AEW pedigree is well known at this point. Alongside Serpentico, no one has made more appearances on DARK than him. The Chicago native and Nightmare trainee has certainly been a DARK staple and his continued involvement on the program is promising for his future. Angelico meanwhile, is only a month or so back from the TH2 hiatus that saw he and Jack Evans miss several months. But now, Angelico is back in action and on Tuesday, he’ll be in a great position to pick up just his second singles victory of 2020.
John Silver vs QT Marshall
Everyone’s favorite recruitment specialist, John Silver has been thrown into singles duty as his partner Alex Reynolds continues to be absent. With all of the Dark Order in his corner, look for Silver to actually have a real shot at a win here. QT Marshall will of course have his own corner man in Dustin Rhodes, but the numbers advantage goes to the Dark Order. With Mr. Brodie Lee set to defend his TNT Championship against Cody on Wednesday night, consider this a chance for either the Dark Order or Nightmare Family to strike first. And here’s hoping for Silver’s sake that Dark Order fires the first shot because otherwise, Evil Uno might as well have the papers already in his hand and ready to go.
M’Badu vs Eddie Kingston
Eddie Kingston’s arrival in AEW has been a revelation as the 17-year veteran has made his impact and shown why he’s not someone to be messed with. Kingston has fashioned himself leader of a family as well as he’s united the Lucha Brothers and Butcher and the Blade in what has been a successful pairing thus far. On his own, Kingston has already had the opportunity to contend for both the TNT Championship and AEW World Championship, recently giving Moxley all he could handle in the impromptu title defense. Kingston is certainly a power player in AEW and on Tuesday, he should have an easy go at a win when he takes on M’Badu. Relatively new to AEW, this will be M’Badu’s first singles match on DARK, after previously wrestling three with various tag partners.
Matt Sydal vs Michael Nakazawa
Being the Elite managed to take Matt Sydal’s unfortunate slip in the casino battle royale and turned it into an angle. As the story was told, Michael Nakazawa, annoyed at not being picked for the match, decided to become the joker. Only, Nak didn’t realize being the joker meant something outside of what he was thinking. Nakazawa used his signature baby oil to oil up the top rope, thus leading to Sydal’s slip and fall. And since then, these two one-time rivals, have been going back and forth on BTE with Nakazawa confessing to wanting to break Sydal’s neck. On Tuesday night, Sydal will look for and likely get his much-awaited revenge.
Brandi Rhodes vs Kenzie Paige
Brandi Rhodes made her singles return to the ring a few weeks ago when she defeated Red Velvet on AEW DARK before Anna Jay ultimately defeated her on that night’s special late night Dynamite. Rhodes hasn’t wrestled much in AEW but this will be a good opportunity for her as she takes on one of AEW’s youngest prospects, the teenaged Kenzie Paige. Known for her time in IWA-MS, Paige made her AEW debut in May and has been involved in five shows since. She’s making her return to DARK for the first time since July.
Lucha Brothers vs Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela
Don’t sleep on this one. Looking to possibly be match of the night, the Lucha Brothers will take on the AEW DARK tag team favorites, Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela. Only recently have Kiss and Janela started to bring their successful and near-undefeated act to TV. This partnership started on DARK and has grown tremendously as Kiss and Janela have been an unlikely but very refreshing duo. They’ll look to get a huge upset win, the biggest of their partnership, against the Lucha Brothers. Both teams have eyes on FTR and the gold around their waists but right now, Pentagon and Fenix also have other things to consider as Fenix has been announced as entering the upcoming tournament to determine Moxley’s new #1 contender. Might tag team gold still be on the Lucha Brothers’ to-do list? Either way, Pentagon and Fenix have incredible chemistry, evidenced not just by their blood bond but the fact these two have been plying the wrestling scene for decades together. Kiss and Janela are fun to watch and have developed some of their own chemistry, but in the end, look for the Lucha Brothers, cornered by Kingston, to pick up the victory.
Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman vs Cezar Bononi and David Ali
Slowly becoming another favorite DARK tag team is the pairing of Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr., AKA the new Hollywood Blondes. And on Tuesday, all signs point to Garrison, who is a regular on BTE as well as Sammy Guevara’s vlog, and Pillman, who is a top name in the indies right now with MLW, becoming the latest non-signed wrestlers to get a win on DARK. Their opponents will have something to say about that but this is just Cezar Bononi’s second match on the program and just the fourth for Ali. Meanwhile, Pillman and Garrison will be in their sixth match as a duo, having already faced and done well against tough opponents in Private Party, FTR and Santana and Ortiz.
Skyler Moore vs Big Swole
It’s a rare AEW DARK appearance for Big Swole, who returns to the program for the first time since July, this Tuesday night. Swole is coming off a big win over Dr. Britt Baker in their All Out tooth and nail match, and she’ll no doubt be looking to use that win to start to launch her where she belongs, the women’s title picture. Swole won’t have a lay-up on Tuesday night however as her opponent Skyler Moore, is a DARK regular, set to make her ninth appearance on the program. Moore is certainly a talent but right now, it’s hard to see anyone standing in the way of Swole and what she wants now that her feud with Baker seems to be moving toward the back burner.
Jurassic Express vs Ray Rosas and Eric Watts
Jurassic Express has been one of the AEW’s most consistently good tag teams this year, picking up several big wins and having marquee PPV matches as well. They’ve also been in and around the title picture more than once. Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus will look to keep their momentum going as they take on Ray Rosas and AEW newcomer, Eric Watts. Rosas made his AEW debut last week on DARK but this week, he’ll team up with someone he knows quite well from the So Cal indie scene in Watts. In fact, the two just battled each other in Championship Wrestling from Hollywood where Rosas defeated Watts to win the Heritage Championship. These two have certainly been on the opposite side of the ring more than they’ve been partners, but familiarity could be key to them putting on a solid performance. Plus, they are familiar with Luchasaurus as well as this is a match made in California.
Anthony Bowens and Lee Johnson vs Chaos Project
Another AEW debutee comes in the form of the 29-year-old Anthony Bowens who will team with DARK regular and Nightmare trainee, Lee Johnson, to oppose the undefeated Chaos Project. The team of Serpentico and LUTHER are gaining steam and they’ll certainly look at Tuesday night as just another opportunity to pad their resumes, especially inn advance of their huge Dynamite match on Wednesday night against Chris Jericho and Jake Hager. Serpentico has been a valued member of DARK taking part in more matches than anyone, but since joining with LUTHER he’s truly found his place. Johnson is another one who has been on AEW DARK since the early days of inviting indie wrestlers to perform on the program. He’ll certainly be the leader here as WrestlePro’s Bowens, gets introduced to AEW for the first time.
