Rumours had been floating that New Japan Pro Wrestling would still host the Best Of The Super Jr. in 2020. On today’s G1 show it was announced that NJPW will be hosting both the World Tag League and BOSJ in one combined tour beginning November 15th and running until December 11th at Budokan.
The tournaments will run on alternating events with BOSJ matches happening on days when there is no WTL matches and vice versa. This leads us to believe that both tournaments will be single blocks. This is likely because NJPW’s Junior Heavyweight division is much smaller due to injuries and not being able to get talents like El Phantasmo and Robbie Eagles into the country.
This is a move that most fans will welcome. Best Of The Super Jr. is one of the year’s top tournaments for many fans who enjoy the high flying style of the juniors, it also helps deal with the usual lag in excitement that the World Tag League often brings.
Here is the official schedule for the event.
