AAW returned to action with AAW Alive. Alive was a loaded show that featured a number of big matches, including the Besties In The World (Davey Vega & Mat Fitchett) defending their AAW Tag Team Championships against the IMPACT Wrestling pairing of Madman Fulton & Ace Austin. In a surprising result, Austin and Fulton came away with the win and now they stand atop the mountain in AAW’s tag team division.

The defeat ends the Besties third run with the AAW tag team titles at 399 days after three successful title defences. This is the first tag team championship win for Fulton and Ace Austin who have only recently formed their partnership in IMPACT Wrestling. The duo are seemingly now ready to take over the indie scene as well as the IMPACT tag division.
Former X-Division Champion Austin has his first taste of tag team gold, as he himself mentioned the Motor City Machine Guns once held the AAW titles and now they’re in the hands of Austin and Fulton. Austin will be hoping that this trend repeats itself at Bound For Glory when he and Fulton challenge for the IMPACT tag team championships.
